H.I.G. Capital Acquires Lipari Foods from Sterling Investment Partners

H.I.G. Capital affiliate has acquired Lipari Foods Operating Company, LLC from Sterling Investment Partners and certain other selling shareholders, with the Lipari family and management retaining a significant investment. Sterling also made a new investment and will hold a board seat; H.I.G. will partner with management to expand Lipari's distribution and manufacturing platform and pursue organic and M&A-driven growth.

Littlejohn & Co. Acquires Lipari Foods

An investor group led by Littlejohn & Co. acquired Lipari Foods, a leading specialty food distributor and value-added manufacturer headquartered in Warren, Michigan. The Lipari family, management, H.I.G. Capital and Sterling Investment Partners remain minority investors; Littlejohn said it will support Lipari's next phase of growth and accelerate its acquisition program.

Lipari Foods Acquires Swiss-American, Inc.

Lipari Foods, a Warren, Michigan-based specialty food distributor, has acquired St. Louis-based Swiss-American, Inc., a specialty cheese solutions provider focused on retail deli. The acquisition will fold Swiss-American into Lipari's manufacturing division via its subsidiary The Deli Source to expand cheese offerings and capabilities; Swiss-American will continue to be led by Joe Hoff and has approximately 85 employees.

Tilia Holdings Acquires Caputo Cheese from Promus Equity Partners

Chicago-based private investment firm Tilia Holdings has acquired Caputo Cheese, a Melrose Park, Illinois value-added processor of high-quality Italian cheeses, from Promus Equity Partners (transaction closed June 30, 2025). Monroe Capital provided the senior credit facility and an equity co-investment to support the acquisition; Natale Caputo will continue to lead the company as Tilia looks to scale Caputo's manufacturing and national distribution capabilities.

Vilore Foods Acquires Tia Lupita Foods

Vilore Foods, a San Antonio-based importer and distributor of Hispanic brands, has acquired Tia Lupita Foods, the Mexican-origin brand known for its hot sauces, cactus tortilla chips and Mexican Chili Crunch. The deal marks Vilore's entry into the natural foods category and is intended to expand distribution of Tia Lupita’s gluten-free, non-GMO, preservative-free products across U.S. retailers.
