Vilore Foods Acquires Tia Lupita Foods

Vilore Foods, a San Antonio-based importer and distributor of Hispanic brands, has acquired Tia Lupita Foods, the Mexican-origin brand known for its hot sauces, cactus tortilla chips and Mexican Chili Crunch. The deal marks Vilore's entry into the natural foods category and is intended to expand distribution of Tia Lupita’s gluten-free, non-GMO, preservative-free products across U.S. retailers.

Capital, has acquired the assets of Tut's International Export & Import Co., Inc., a Dearborn, Michigan-based importer and distributor of Middle Eastern and Eastern European foods. Monroe Capital provided the senior credit facility and an equity co-investment to support the acquisition; Natale Caputo will continue to lead the company as Tilia looks to scale Caputo's manufacturing and national distribution capabilities.
