BlackRock Real Assets Acquires National Renewable Solutions

BlackRock Real Assets has acquired 100% of National Renewable Solutions (NRS), a Minneapolis-based developer of utility-scale wind and solar projects, to accelerate development and ownership of NRS’s project pipeline of more than 3.5 GW across the Western United States. Terms were not disclosed; the deal pairs NRS’s on-the-ground development expertise and >1 GW of developed projects with BlackRock’s capital markets capabilities and global renewable power platform.

Ares Management Acquires Dynamic Renewables with Minority Investment from NorthWestern Energy

A fund managed by Ares Management's Infrastructure Opportunities strategy has acquired Dynamic Renewables, a U.S.-based developer, owner and operator of anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas (RNG) projects. An unregulated affiliate of NorthWestern Energy also took a small minority stake; the investments will support development, construction and expansion of Dynamic's pipeline and operating assets, including the BC Organics facility in Wisconsin.

Vanguard Renewables Acquires E-Z Recycling

Vanguard Renewables has acquired E‑Z Recycling, a St. Paul, Minnesota depackaging and food & beverage waste recycling facility, to expand its Midwest organics recycling network. The acquisition adds critical depackaging capabilities and additional processing capacity to Vanguard's anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas (RNG) operations; E‑Z Recycling owner Andy Rausch will remain involved as Principal Operations Manager.

Ares Management Acquires Burnham RNG from Edge Natural Resources

A fund managed by Ares Management's Infrastructure Opportunities strategy has acquired Burnham RNG from Edge Natural Resources. The investment will support Burnham's development and construction of a pipeline of renewable natural gas (RNG) and waste-to-biogas projects across the United States, including the Pasco Resource Recovery Center in Pasco, Washington.

GEF Capital Partners Acquires Lifecycle Renewables

GEF Capital Partners, a Washington, D.C.-based sustainability-focused private equity firm, has completed the acquisition of Lifecycle Renewables, a Massachusetts-based producer of renewable heating oil (LR100). The investment will support increased production of LR100 and expansion of Lifecycle Renewables' geographic reach beyond the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic to meet growing demand from institutional customers.
