Datacolor has acquired TECHKON USA, a Danvers, Massachusetts-based provider of color measurement instruments and ChromaQA software, to deepen its presence in the printing and packaging markets. The deal builds on Datacolor’s recent acquisition of Techkon GmbH and is intended to broaden Datacolor’s product offering and market reach while ensuring uninterrupted service for existing Techkon USA customers.

Techmer PM Acquires Colors for Plastics

The acquisition expands Techmer PM's product offerings and color technology capabilities, and brings Colors for Plastics' Elk Grove Village, Illinois and Spartanburg, South Carolina sites and employees into Techmer's organization.

ChromaScape Acquires Greenville Colorants

ChromaScape, a specialty chemicals manufacturer, has acquired Greenville Colorants, a processor of liquid and powder dyes with a portfolio of over 2,000 products and manufacturing locations in New Jersey, South Carolina and California. The deal expands ChromaScape's product capabilities and extends its manufacturing footprint in the Southeast; Greenville's leadership (Ron Weiss and Joe Lynch) invested in the transaction and will join ChromaScape's executive team.

Chroma Color Corporation Acquires Plastics Color Corporation

Chroma Color Corporation has acquired Plastics Color Corporation, including its two manufacturing facilities in Asheboro, North Carolina and Calumet City, Illinois. The acquisition expands Chroma's manufacturing footprint and adds Plastics Color's color concentrates, functional additives and FDA-relevant capabilities (including DMFs) to Chroma's portfolio; terms were not disclosed.

Graco Inc. Acquires Color Service S.r.l.

Graco Inc. has completed the acquisition of Color Service S.r.l., an Italian manufacturer of automated precision dosing systems for powders and liquids, for €63 million (subject to customary adjustments). Color Service had 2024 revenue of €34 million, approximately 140 employees worldwide and is headquartered in Italy; Graco said the acquisition strengthens its powder handling portfolio and supports its global expansion strategy.

Techmer PM Acquires OptiColor, Inc.

Techmer PM, a materials design company based in Clinton, Tennessee, has acquired OptiColor, Inc., a Huntington Beach, California-based color compounder specializing in color concentrates and masterbatches. The acquisition (closed October 1, 2024) expands Techmer PM's capabilities and technology portfolio in colorants and additives for technical plastics applications; terms were not disclosed.
