H.I.G. Capital Acquires ZimVie's Spine Business, Rebrands as Highridge Medical

An affiliate of H.I.G. Capital has completed the acquisition of the Spine division of ZimVie, Inc. The acquired business will operate independently under the new name Highridge Medical, headquartered in Westminster, Colorado, and H.I.G. plans to invest in R&D, product innovation and strategic growth to build a leading privately held spine platform.

Boston Scientific acquired Vertiflex, Inc., a Carlsbad-based developer of the Superion interspinous spacer for lumbar spinal stenosis, for approximately $465 million in cash plus contingent payments. The transaction was announced in May 2019 and completed in June 2019; Vertiflex had been backed by H.I.G. BioHealth Partners.
