Pro-ficiency has acquired all life-sciences intellectual property and the associated team of Fugitive Labs, bringing Fugitive's product development capabilities and team (led by Erik Guffrey) into Pro-ficiency's platform. The deal expands Pro-ficiency's product development capacity for clinical-trials simulation and performance-management products and is the company's first acquisition since being funded by NovaQuest Private Equity in 2021.

(Nasdaq: SLP) has acquired Pro-ficiency Holdings, Inc. and its subsidiaries from QHP Capital, L.P. and Pro-ficiency's minority shareholders for approximately $100 million in cash. The deal expands Simulations Plus' offerings across the drug development continuum by adding Pro-ficiency's simulation-enabled training, compliance, analytics and medical communications capabilities to its biosimulation platform.

ProProfs Acquires Qualaroo

ProProfs, a provider of SaaS customer support and training tools, has acquired Qualaroo, a survey and in-context user feedback software provider. The deal (announced Feb 29, 2020) brings Qualaroo's Nudge survey technology and customer base (used by sites such as LinkedIn, Zillow, eBay and TripAdvisor) into the ProProfs product suite; Qualaroo was most recently run by Scaleworks.

Providence Equity Partners Majority Investment in Accelerate Learning

Providence Equity Partners has made a majority investment in Accelerate Learning, a Houston-based provider of K-12 STEM curriculum and digital learning platforms. Existing investors including funds managed by Carlyle, Quad Partners, Rice University and Owl Ventures will retain minority stakes; financial terms were not disclosed. The investment is intended to help Accelerate Learning scale growth, deepen customer relationships and pursue organic and inorganic expansion opportunities.
