MLC CAD Systems, LLC, an Austin-based provider of CAD/CAM/PLM and additive manufacturing solutions, has acquired San Diego CAD CAM Inc. The acquisition expands MLC's geographic presence and technical support capacity within the Mastercam partner network, giving San Diego CAD CAM customers access to MLC's larger technical and customer service teams.

Mastercam Acquires CAM Business Line of MLC CAD Systems

Mastercam, part of the Sandvik Group, has acquired the CAM business line of longtime channel partner MLC CAD Systems to strengthen its localized support and market presence across the Western and Southwestern United States. MLC CAD Systems will continue to collaborate with Mastercam as a technical solutions provider while transitioning its CAM customers and regional expertise into Mastercam's direct operations.

Progima Acquires CADmech Design

Ansys Acquires Phoenix Integration, Inc.

Ansys acquired Phoenix Integration, Inc., the developer of the ModelCenter platform for model-based engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE), to expand its process-integration and MBSE capabilities. The acquisition, announced May 17, 2021, will broaden Ansys' solution offering by enabling multi-tool workflows and tighter integration between engineering analysis and systems models; financial terms were not disclosed.

Siemens Acquires MultiMechanics

Siemens has acquired MultiMechanics, the developer of the MultiMech materials modeling and simulation software, from investors including Anzu Partners (and fellow investor Solvay). MultiMechanics will be integrated into Siemens Digital Industries Software and incorporated into the Simcenter offering within Siemens' Xcelerator portfolio to add materials-engineering and digital-twin capabilities.

Synopsys Acquires Ansys

Synopsys has acquired Ansys in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $35 billion, combining Synopsys' electronic design automation (EDA) and IP capabilities with Ansys' simulation and analysis portfolio to create an integrated "silicon-to-systems" engineering leader. The deal, announced January 16, 2024 and completed July 17, 2025, positions the combined company to deliver integrated multiphysics and EDA solutions across semiconductors, automotive, aerospace and other industries.
