Synopsys, Inc. acquired Code Dx, an application security risk management vendor based in Northport, New York, to extend Synopsys' application security portfolio and provide consolidated vulnerability aggregation, correlation, and prioritization across multiple testing tools. The deal adds Code Dx's R&D team and technology into Synopsys' Software Integrity Group to improve risk reporting and DevSecOps orchestration.

Clearlake and Francisco Partners Acquire Synopsys' Software Integrity Group (Black Duck Software)

Clearlake Capital and Francisco Partners agreed to acquire Synopsys' Software Integrity Group in a transaction valued at up to $2.1 billion, creating a newly independent application security company to be branded Black Duck. The deal — a carve-out divestiture by Synopsys — is expected to close in H2 2024 (announcement) and was completed October 1, 2024, enabling the business to operate as a standalone leader in application security testing.

Synopsys Acquires Intrinsic ID

The deal adds production-proven PUF technology and a team of R&D engineers in Eindhoven to Synopsys' semiconductor IP portfolio to strengthen on-chip security for SoC designers worldwide; the terms were not disclosed and the transaction was not material to Synopsys' financials.

Synopsys Acquires Ansys

Synopsys has acquired Ansys in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $35 billion, combining Synopsys' electronic design automation (EDA) and IP capabilities with Ansys' simulation and analysis portfolio to create an integrated "silicon-to-systems" engineering leader. The deal, announced January 16, 2024 and completed July 17, 2025, positions the combined company to deliver integrated multiphysics and EDA solutions across semiconductors, automotive, aerospace and other industries.

Palo Alto Networks Acquires Talon Cyber Security

Palo Alto Networks completed the acquisition of Talon Cyber Security to integrate Talon’s enterprise browser technology into its Prisma SASE offering. The deal extends Palo Alto’s SASE capabilities by protecting managed and unmanaged devices and will make Talon’s Enterprise Browser available to qualified SASE AI customers at no additional cost.

Snyk Acquires Enso Security
