Tough Commerce, a Toronto-based provider of job management software for asset-based construction businesses, has acquired AgileTQ, a software provider of automation tools for concrete supply operations including the PumpTrack product. The acquisition brings additional capabilities, domain expertise (including industry veteran Joe Sostaric joining the team) and expanded product functionality to Tough Commerce’s quote-to-cash and job-management platform.

Groundworks Acquires BQ Basements & Concrete

Virginia Beach-based Groundworks, a Cortec Group-backed national foundation and water management platform, acquired Philadelphia-based BQ Basements & Concrete. The add-on expands Groundworks' Northeast footprint (greater Philadelphia, New Jersey and Northern Delaware) and brings BQ's team, local brand and basement/foundation services under Groundworks' national platform; terms were not disclosed.

Chaney Enterprises Acquires Concrete Solutions, LLC

Chaney Enterprises, a construction material supplier based in Gambrills, Maryland, has acquired Concrete Solutions, LLC, a ready-mix concrete operator with plants in Raeford and Goldston, North Carolina. The purchase expands Chaney's footprint into central North Carolina and brings its planned total of three North Carolina ready-mix locations (Raeford, Goldston and an expected Powells Point site).

Entelo Acquires ConveyIQ

Entelo acquired ConveyIQ, a candidate engagement SaaS provider, to create an end-to-end recruiting platform that manages candidate interactions from source-to-hire. The deal was announced August 26, 2019 alongside a new funding round supported by investors including Battery Ventures, Shasta Ventures, USVP, 3TS Capital Partners, SC Ventures and StarVest Partners.

Quikrete Holdings Acquires Summit Materials for $11.5B

Quikrete Holdings, a privately owned building materials company based in Atlanta, acquired Summit Materials, a leading producer of aggregates, cement and ready-mix concrete, for an enterprise value of approximately $11.5 billion (including debt). The transaction combines Quikrete’s packaged-products footprint with Summit’s vertically integrated aggregates and cement operations to expand scale, capabilities and market coverage across the U.S. and Canada.

Accenture Acquires Infinity Works

Accenture has acquired UK-based cloud and digital transformation consultancy Infinity Works to strengthen and expand the cloud delivery and engineering capabilities of Accenture Cloud First in the United Kingdom. Infinity Works, headquartered in Leeds with approximately 440 employees, brings cloud, data, design and full‑stack engineering expertise and partnerships with AWS and Snowflake. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
