Voodoo Acquires BeReal for €500 Million

France-based mobile and game publisher Voodoo has acquired social app BeReal for €500 million. Voodoo will invest in BeReal’s product, growth and infrastructure while BeReal co-founder and CEO Alexis Barreyat will depart after a transition; Aymeric Roffé will become BeReal’s CEO. The app, launched in 2019, has over 40 million active users and is most popular in the United States, Japan and France.
