Hotel Equities and Springboard Hospitality announced a strategic merger effective May 1 to create a scaled, owner-focused hotel management company operating across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Latin America. Ben Rafter (formerly CEO of Springboard) will serve as CEO of the combined company and Brad Rahinsky (former Hotel Equities CEO) will serve as chairman, with the combined firm leveraging complementary strengths in branded and independent/lifestyle hotel management.

Benchmark Global Hospitality and Pyramid Hotel Group completed a merger to form Benchmark Pyramid, a combined hotel and resort management company with a portfolio of about 210 properties and more than $3 billion in annual operating revenue under management. Marriott Vacations Worldwide Acquires Welk Resorts for Approximately $430 Million

Marriott Vacations Worldwide (MVW) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Welk Resorts, a family-owned timeshare and resort operator, for approximately $430 million, including stock. The deal expands MVW’s Hyatt Residence Club footprint by adding eight upper-upscale resorts (nearly 1,400 keys) and ~55,000 owners, and is expected to close in early Q2 2021 subject to customary approvals.

The combined business will offer Infor, Acumatica and Hexagon ERP implementations, managed hosting and related consulting services across North America; financial terms were not disclosed.
