Blue Point-Backed Transtar Acquires Pro Form Products

Transtar Holding Company, a Blue Point Capital Partners portfolio company, has acquired Pro Form Products, an Ontario-based manufacturer of refinishing and repair products for automotive, aviation, industrial and marine applications. Pro Form will operate as a subsidiary of Transtar Autobody Technologies as the acquisition expands Transtar's product line, geographic coverage across the U.S. and Canada, and entry into new end-markets.

Fingerpaint Group Acquires BlackPoint Consulting Group

Fingerpaint Group has acquired BlackPoint Consulting Group, a New York–based advisory firm specializing in market access and commercialization services for life sciences companies. The deal (terms undisclosed) expands Fingerpaint’s Market Access Center of Excellence and builds on its 2020 partnership with private equity backer Knox Lane to broaden capability and client offerings.

Marcone, a portfolio company of Genstar Capital, acquired Professional Plumbing Group (PPG) from Dunes Point Capital. The acquisition expands Marcone’s parts and distribution footprint into the plumbing repair and remodel market, adding PPG’s proprietary brands (Wolverine Brass and Speakman), ~20,000 SKUs and ~10,000 customers to Marcone’s platform.

The Protech Group Acquires MF Paints Inc.

Montreal-based The Protech Group has acquired 100% of MF Paints Inc., a Laval, Quebec manufacturer and distributor of architectural paints and stains, with the transaction effective October 7, 2023. Protech said it will leverage its purchasing, technical and manufacturing capabilities to expand MF Paints' product offerings and strengthen its presence in the Canadian retail and commercial building paints market; the Morello family and MF Paints shareholders sold the company.
