Franchise Group Acquires Sylvan Learning for $81 Million

Franchise Group, Inc. completed an all-cash acquisition of Sylvan Learning for approximately $81 million, financed with available cash. Sylvan, a Hunt Valley, Maryland–headquartered tutoring franchisor with more than 700 locations, will expand Franchise Group's portfolio of consumer-facing franchise concepts and is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings.

Unleashed Brands (Urban Air) Acquires Snapology

The acquisition brings Snapology's programs into Urban Air parks and strengthens Unleashed Brands' capabilities in play-based education and franchise expansion; terms were not disclosed.

Seidler Equity Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Unleashed Brands

Seidler Equity Partners has invested in Unleashed Brands, acquiring a majority stake to fund the franchisor's next phase of growth and future youth-enrichment brand development. Management, led by CEO Michael Browning, will remain in place as the company uses the capital to expand its portfolio and open additional locations across the U.S. and Canada; former investors MPK Equity Partners and AHR Growth Partners exited as part of the transaction.
