Pikmykid announced the acquisition of Visitu to expand and strengthen its school safety platform, particularly in visitor and attendance management. The combination is intended to deliver an end-to-end campus safety and operations solution, integrating real-time visitor tracking with Pikmykid’s existing dismissal and school operations tools.

Follett School Solutions announced the strategic acquisition of MasterLibrary, a provider of integrated, cloud-based facilities management applications for K-12 school districts. The deal expands Follett School Solutions’ edtech portfolio by adding tools for facilities and fixed-asset management, scheduling, work orders, and asset mapping (ML Drawings) to support K-12 administrators and operations teams.

Mason Christensen and Duncan Hamilton of The Kimberton Group acquired Sea School, a maritime training institution offering U.S. Coast Guard-approved licensing and education courses. The business was sold by owner Jean Wahl and her family, with Viking Mergers & Acquisitions facilitating the transaction. Sea School, founded in 1977 and originating in St. Petersburg, Florida, operates multiple physical locations and an online training presence across the United States.

Intelvio, a healthcare education company backed by Eden Capital, announced the acquisition of Classward, an online provider of continuing education and test preparation for EMS professionals. The deal expands Intelvio’s healthcare education platform into EMS and complements its existing allied health training offerings.

Colibri Group, a professional education company backed by Gridiron Capital, has acquired TRC Healthcare. The acquisition expands Colibri’s healthcare education portfolio with TRC’s pharmacy-focused product suite and continuing education offerings serving clinicians, hospitals, and pharmacy networks.

160 Driving Academy acquired the National Tractor Trailer School (NTTS) locations in Buffalo and Liverpool, New York. The NTTS schools were previously owned by Swift Transportation and had stopped accepting new students in April 2023, but will reopen and enroll students under 160 Driving Academy. The deal expands 160 Driving Academy’s footprint in upstate New York alongside its earlier acquisition of Professional Driving Institute in Rochester.

Prairie Capital VII, LP partnered with the founders of STAR Autism Support to recapitalize the company. STAR Autism Support, founded by the Arick family and based in Beaverton, Oregon, provides digital curriculum and training to K-12 school districts and agency staff serving students with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities. The investment is intended to accelerate growth of STAR’s SaaS solutions through investments in talent, sales and marketing, new products, and potential add-on acquisitions.

Meazure Learning, a portfolio company of Gryphon Investors, acquired online proctoring provider Examity from Great Hill Partners. Great Hill Partners will retain a minority stake in Meazure Learning alongside Gryphon Investors, Eastside Partners, and management; financial terms were not disclosed.

Hidden River Strategic Capital partnered with Taurus Capital Partners to form Somersault Holdings, LLC, which has acquired and consolidated seven franchises in The Little Gym system under one management group. The transaction provides institutional backing to grow Somersault through additional acquisitions and new location development.

SchoolStatus announced the acquisition of ClassTag, a unified family communication and engagement platform for K-12 educators, schools, and districts. The deal expands SchoolStatus’ data and school-home communications suite by adding ClassTag’s communications app and technology, which will be integrated into the SchoolStatus platform.

The Riverside Company sold its investment in n2y, a provider of technology-powered special education solutions, to Five Arrows, the alternative assets arm of Rothschild & Co. The transaction makes Five Arrows the majority stakeholder in n2y, marking Riverside’s exit after first investing in 2016 and retaining a minority stake following a 2019 sale to Providence Equity Partners.

Parchment, an academic credentials management platform, announced its acquisition of Quottly, a technology provider for course and program sharing, transfer articulation, and dual enrollment. The deal expands Parchment’s capabilities by combining Quottly’s course/credit and transfer-pathway tools with Parchment’s transcript exchange network to reduce credit-loss and improve student mobility and completion outcomes.

Excolere Equity Partners acquired EPS School Specialty, the literacy and math solutions division of School Specialty, LLC, to establish EPS as a standalone company. Cambridge Information Group (CIG) joined Excolere in the investment, and Excolere appointed Steven Guttentag as CEO to lead EPS’s next phase of growth in K-12 curriculum products and services.

Saw Mill Capital announced the sale of Meteor Education, LLC and affiliated assets to Bain Capital Double Impact, LP. Meteor Education, headquartered in Gainesville, Florida, designs, delivers, and implements modern learning environments for K-12 schools across the United States.

Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP) agreed to sell its portfolio company GL Education to Renaissance, a portfolio company of Blackstone Group and Francisco Partners. GL Education, an education assessment provider headquartered in London, will join Renaissance; financial terms were not disclosed and closing is expected by the end of Q1 2023.

Axcel, a professional education platform backed by Alpine Investors, announced a partnership with Accelebrate, an IT training provider offering live on-site and online technical training. Accelebrate will work alongside Axcel’s existing IT training company Web Age Solutions, with founder Steve Heckler continuing to support the business full time as an advisor on growth plans. The transaction adds Accelebrate as Axcel’s fifth acquisition in its professional education portfolio.

Smith System Driver Improvement Institute, Inc., a portfolio company of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP), acquired Driving Dynamics, Inc. Driving Dynamics provides commercial fleet driver safety training services across the U.S., expanding Smith System’s workplace safety training capabilities and building on prior acquisitions.

TrueLearn acquired APEX Anesthesia Review (APEX) to expand its healthcare digital learning and analytics platform, strengthening its presence in nursing education. APEX provides exam preparation and continuing education for nurse anesthetists, and the combination is intended to enhance learning outcomes through TrueLearn’s analytics and APEX’s specialized content.

Housatonic Partners announced a strategic growth investment in Brainfuse, a provider of online tutoring services, career counseling, and veterans' assistance programs delivered via its proprietary online learning platform. Brainfuse, founded in 2001 and headquartered in New York City, serves public libraries, higher education institutions, and K-12 school districts across North America. Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.

McGraw Hill acquired Ryan Medical Education LLC, doing business as Boards & Beyond, an on-demand video and online learning platform for medical students. The deal strengthens McGraw Hill’s digital medical education offerings by adding Boards & Beyond’s video-driven instruction and assessment content. McGraw Hill is a portfolio company of Platinum Equity, and this is its second acquisition since Platinum Equity acquired McGraw Hill in 2021.

Seaside Equity Partners-backed Cascade Training Solutions has acquired LifeSaver CPR, LLC, a provider of continuing education, training, and certification services for healthcare and enterprise organizations. The acquisition supports Cascade’s regionally focused strategy to expand its healthcare certification and workplace safety training platform across local Western U.S. markets, with LifeSaver CPR serving customers throughout Northern California.

The Riverside Company has acquired Applied Educational Systems (AES), a provider of digital career and technical education content for K-12 schools and career centers. The deal is an add-on to Riverside’s iCEV platform, expanding iCEV’s curriculum and platform capabilities and broadening its customer reach across the U.S.

Axcel, a professional education business backed by Alpine Investors, announced a partnership with EduMind, a global provider of professional exam preparation and certification training. EduMind will join Axcel’s suite of professional education companies, with plans for continued investment in technology, course development, and growth; transaction terms were not disclosed.

Edcetera, an Eden Capital-backed provider of continuing education, exam prep, and licensing programs, announced the acquisition of PrepFE, an exam prep platform for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. The deal expands Edcetera’s presence in engineering education, training, and licensure and is intended to accelerate investment in PrepFE’s product innovation and new educational offerings.

Discovery Education, an edtech company backed by Clearlake Capital Group, acquired Minneapolis-based Pivot Interactives SBC. Pivot Interactives’ cloud-based interactive science activities and labs will complement Discovery Education’s K-12 digital learning offerings. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

iCEV acquired the K-12 and post-secondary segment of Today's Class as part of its business expansion in career and technical education (CTE) content. The deal adds Automotive and Cosmetology curriculum to iCEV’s course library and expands its existing Health Science and Agricultural Science offerings, while Today's Class will retain its professional technician and workshop portfolio via the Today's Class Technician platform.

Discovery Education, which is backed by Clearlake Capital Group, announced it has acquired United Kingdom-based DoodleLearning. The deal expands Discovery Education’s digital product suite in math and English Language Arts and strengthens its presence in the UK. Financial terms were not disclosed.

3STEP Sports acquired Wildfire Volleyball Academy, adding the nationally recognized volleyball club to its volleyball division. Wildfire, founded in 2004 by Ore Pablos in South Florida, operates youth volleyball training and teams and plans to expand its facility capacity.

Clinical Education Alliance (CEA) Holdings announced the acquisition of Rockpointe Corporation, a provider of accredited continuing education programs for healthcare professionals. The deal expands CEA’s reach into primary care education and extends its outreach to community healthcare professionals, including underserved areas across the United States.

BARBRI Global, a legal education provider and Francisco Partners portfolio company, announced the acquisition of Strafford, a provider of online professional courses and webinars. The deal expands BARBRI’s professional education offering, adding Strafford’s library of CLE/CPE-focused advanced webinars and supporting broader distribution through BARBRI’s global network.

Carnegie, a higher education marketing and enrollment strategy firm, announced the acquisition of Maguire Associates, an enrollment management firm known for research and predictive modeling. Maguire will be integrated into Carnegie as its Financial Aid Optimization and Enrollment Analytics team, expanding Carnegie’s data science, financial aid modeling, and enrollment analytics capabilities.

Repairify, Inc., a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, LLC, announced the acquisition of Automotive Training Group (ATG). ATG provides technical training to automotive professionals through live and virtual classes offered across the United States and internationally; financial terms were not disclosed.

Sycamore Partners has acquired Goddard Systems, Inc., the franchisor of The Goddard School premium early childcare and education centers. Goddard Systems was purchased from an affiliate of Wind River Holdings, L.P., and will continue to support and expand its franchisee network from its headquarters in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.

Meazure Learning announced the acquisition of Scantron Corporation's Certification and Licensure business, including its global test center network, assessment software, and exam development and psychometric services teams. The deal expands Meazure Learning’s scale by growing its test site footprint globally and enhancing its professional certification and licensure testing offerings.

Progress Learning, LLC acquired Horizon Education, LLC to strengthen its college test prep and postsecondary readiness offering for high school students. Horizon Education’s SAT/ACT-focused programs will become the fifth product in the Progress Learning suite, expanding Progress Learning’s standards-aligned K–12 solutions across grade levels.

Blueprint Prep announced the acquisition of Sarah Michelle NP Reviews, a provider of courses and training resources for aspiring nurse practitioners. The combination is intended to expand Blueprint Prep’s nursing education offering with modern, flexible learning tools and updated exam preparation content for ANCC and AANP exams.

Alpine Investors announced the launch of Axcel, a new professional education platform within AlpineX. Alongside the launch, Axcel formed partnerships with Michael Management Corporation (MMC) and Web Age Solutions, with Interskill Learning also included as part of the platform. Terms of the private transaction were not disclosed, and the companies will continue to operate under their existing brands.

Riverside Insights announced the acquisition of Aperture Education, a provider of research-based social and emotional learning (SEL) assessments for K-12 schools. The deal expands Riverside Insights’ portfolio of education assessments and analytics, and Riverside Insights is a portfolio company of Alpine Investors.

Education Advanced, Inc. (EAI), a Serent Capital portfolio company, acquired Standard for Success (SFS), an Indiana-based edtech business serving K-12 school districts. The combination expands EAI’s operations management and workflow software suite and is expected to reach over 5 million students across more than 10,000 schools globally.

Paxton/Patterson LLC has been acquired by Millpond Equity Partners, LLC and Wasena Capital Management, Inc., with Prairie Capital Advisors serving as exclusive financial advisor to Paxton/Patterson and its shareholders. Paxton/Patterson, headquartered in Alsip, Illinois, provides Career and Technical Education (CTE) curriculum, related equipment, and educator training and support to school districts. Transaction terms were not disclosed.

Emler Swim School acquired SwimWest Swim School in Madison, Wisconsin, with the transaction closing on April 1, 2022. The acquisition adds SwimWest’s two locations (West Madison and Fitchburg) as Emler’s 32nd and 33rd sites, expanding Emler’s footprint into its fifth operating state.

Renaissance has acquired KeyPhonics, a web-based phonics assessment designed to screen and diagnose students’ phonics patterns and support phonics-based reading instruction. The deal expands Renaissance’s early literacy assessment and instructional solutions for pre-K–12 educators and aligns with the Science of Reading approach.

KnowFully Learning Group, a NexPhase Capital-backed provider of continuing professional education and digital learning solutions, announced the acquisition of MasterCPE. MasterCPE expands KnowFully’s accounting and finance education portfolio with asynchronous, self-study online CPE courses offered via a subscription model.

VSS Capital Partners-backed Really Great Reading acquired InferCabulary, a web-based vocabulary and critical-thinking program for K–12 students. The deal expands Really Great Reading’s literacy curriculum offerings into digital vocabulary learning; financial terms were not disclosed.

O2B Kids, a portfolio company of Spire Capital Partners, announced it has acquired Cedars Preschool, an early education provider operating in Georgia. Cedars operates eight preschools in the greater Atlanta region, expanding O2B Kids’ footprint in Georgia.

O2B Kids, a Spire Capital portfolio company, acquired Children of Tomorrow (COT), an early education provider operating preschools in the greater Minneapolis region of Minnesota. The transaction expands O2B Kids’ footprint into Minnesota and provides a hub for further growth in the Midwest.

Texthelp announced it will acquire the Education Technology Division of Don Johnston Inc., expanding Texthelp’s global literacy and accessibility technology portfolio. The acquired curriculum business will form a new company called Building Wings (including products such as Readtopia and First Author), while Texthelp adds Don Johnston tools such as Snap&Read and Co:Writer to its suite; deal terms were not disclosed.

Solution Tree Inc., a provider of educator professional development products and services, acquired Results Coaching Global (RCG) on January 3, 2022 for an undisclosed amount. Texas-based RCG will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary, and its founders will continue in instructional/coaching roles while serving as strategic advisors.

Trafera announced the acquisition of AXI Education Solutions, a provider of interactive flat panels, educator professional development, and related products and services to U.S. K-12 school districts. Trafera is a portfolio company of Rotunda Capital Partners, which (along with other investors) provided additional capital to support the acquisition. AXI will remain based in Madisonville, Louisiana.

XanEdu announced the addition of NextLesson to its educational technology portfolio. The acquisition expands XanEdu’s K-12 courseware and services with NextLesson’s standards-aligned projects and lesson technology, including LMS integration and grading automation.

On December 10, 2021, Prairie Capital VII, LP partnered with founder Dr. Becky Bailey and other management to recapitalize Conscious Discipline. Conscious Discipline, headquartered in Oviedo, Florida, provides a comprehensive social emotional learning (SEL) program integrating school discipline and school culture. The investment is intended to accelerate growth through investments in people, sales and marketing, technology, infrastructure, new products, and potential add-on acquisitions.

American Safety Council (ASC) announced the acquisition of TPC Training, a provider of industrial skills and workplace safety training, performance management, and EHS compliance software solutions. The combination aims to create a leading safety training platform serving both enterprise customers and individual learners. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Blueprint Education has completed the acquisition of Rosh Review, a provider of online exam preparation and continuing education solutions for medical and nursing professionals. The deal is Blueprint's third acquisition in partnership with its private equity sponsor, New Harbor Capital, and expands Blueprint’s medical education and licensure exam prep offerings.

KnowFully Learning Group acquired Immediate Action Medicine (IA MED), an EMS specialty medical training and accreditation services provider. IA MED will join KnowFully, a NexPhase Capital-backed continuing professional education and digital learning solutions platform. Three Sixty Seven Advisors served as exclusive advisor to IA MED on the transaction.

Meteor Education acquired Premier Furniture + Equipment (Premier F+E) to expand its presence in the U.S. heartland. Premier F+E will continue operating from Shell Rock, Iowa, serving school districts across Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota with added resources and operational support from Meteor.

i9 Sports Corporation, a portfolio company of LNC Partners, has been acquired by Youth Enrichment Brands, which is backed by Roark Capital. The deal provides i9 Sports additional resources to accelerate growth while the existing management team will remain in place. LNC Partners is exiting its investment in i9 Sports as part of the transaction.

WhiteHorse Capital provided a revolver, first lien term loan, delayed draw term loan, and an equity co-investment to support Renovus Capital Partners' acquisition of EducationDynamics, LLC. EducationDynamics, headquartered in Hoboken, New Jersey, provides prospect delivery and enrollment management services for colleges and universities.

Infobase Holdings, a cloud-based educational solutions provider, announced the acquisition of Purple Briefcase, a career services administration and employer recruiting platform with student-facing job, internship, and mentoring tools. The deal expands Infobase’s Vault / Firsthand Career Engagement Platform and deepens its partnership with Ruffalo Noel Levitz to provide an end-to-end student and alumni career engagement experience.

NCK Capital has sold The Ogle School, a beauty-industry education provider headquartered in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, to an affiliate of RLJ Equity Partners. NCK originally led a control buyout of Ogle in December 2014 and partnered with management and Greyrock Capital Group during its ownership period.

Eden Capital acquired Wall Street Prep, Inc. (WSP), a global financial training and consulting firm. Capital Southwest supported the acquisition by providing a revolving credit facility, a first lien term loan, and a minority equity co-investment, and Main Street Capital Corporation also participated in the investment.

DreamBox Learning, an education technology provider, announced it is acquiring Reading Plus, an evidence-based online reading program for grades 3–12 headquartered in Winooski, Vermont. The acquisition expands DreamBox’s literacy offerings alongside its prior purchase of Squiggle Park and strengthens its combined math and reading solution for school districts.

Xello acquired Awato, a personalized career pathfinding software platform used by K-12 schools and higher education institutions. The deal expands Xello’s product portfolio and combines the companies’ talent to deliver more personalized college and career readiness experiences for students. Awato will continue supporting and enhancing its platform while collaborating with Xello on new tools.

KnowFully Learning Group, a NexPhase Capital-backed provider of professional continuing education and digital learning solutions, has acquired ChiroCredit. ChiroCredit will join KnowFully’s PharmCon division, expanding PharmCon’s reach into continuing education for chiropractors, allied health professionals, and other healthcare practitioners.

CeriFi, a portfolio company of Leeds Equity Partners, announced the acquisition of Fast Forward Academy, a provider of tax and accounting exam preparation and continuing education courses. The deal expands CeriFi’s financial education and training offerings into EA and CPA exam prep and related continuing education; financial terms were not disclosed.

Graduway, an education management and engagement software provider, acquired PeerPal, an ambassador management solution used by K-12 schools and universities. The deal expands Graduway’s digital offerings across the full student lifecycle, including admissions, mentorship, volunteer management, parent and alumni engagement, and fundraising.

Vector Solutions acquired EVERFI's higher education business, including its online training catalog for colleges and universities and the Campus Prevention Network (CPN), for $100 million. The acquired business will be integrated into Vector Solutions' education-focused business unit to expand its higher-education training, prevention, and compliance offerings.

Texthelp Ltd, a literacy and accessibility technology company backed by Five Arrows (Rothschild & Co), completed the acquisition of Wizkids, an edtech business focused on accessibility tools and data synchronisation. The combination is intended to expand and improve assistive technology and edtech management offerings for customers across the United Kingdom and Europe, and to scale Wizkids’ products to more students globally.

Apax Digital Fund will make a growth investment in Revolution Prep, a provider of online academic tutoring and test preparation services. The investment will support enhancements to Revolution Prep’s online learning platform and expansion of its tutoring offerings to reach more students in the United States and beyond.

Falfurrias Capital Partners (FCP) announced an investment in Training The Street (TTS), a provider of education and training resources for financial professionals. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, TTS will use the investment to expand content, technology, marketing, and international presence, while founder Scott Rostan remains CEO and will co-invest alongside the leadership team.

Emler Swim School acquired All Star Swim Academy in Henderson, Nevada, expanding Emler to its 31st location and adding Nevada as its fourth operating state. The deal closed on June 12, 2021, and All Star will continue operating under its existing name with staff and enrollment plans unchanged.

TrueLearn, a healthcare education and digital learning platform, acquired Picmonic, an audiovisual mnemonic-based learning company. The deal expands TrueLearn’s platform capabilities by adding Picmonic’s animated picture mnemonic content and active recall learning approach, deepening TrueLearn’s presence with learners and educators across healthcare and allied health markets.

eDynamic Learning acquired Knowledge Matters, adding the career-simulation education technology provider to its portfolio of online education offerings. The combination pairs Knowledge Matters’ simulation-based learning products with eDynamic Learning’s digital CTE and elective curriculum for grades 6–12 to deliver more immersive, experiential courseware for schools and students.

Educate 360 Professional Training Partners acquired Pierian Data, Inc., a provider of technology training focused on Python, data science, and machine learning. The deal expands Educate 360’s digital and data-science training capabilities for individual and enterprise customers. Pierian Data founder Jose Portilla will remain with Educate 360 as Head of Data Science.

360training acquired Van Education Center (VanEd), an online education provider focused on real estate, appraisal, and broker licensing. The deal expands 360training’s reach in real estate education and supports continued growth through integrated brands and broader course offerings across more states.

Carrus, a Revelstoke Capital Partners portfolio company, completed the acquisition of Archetype Innovations, creator of the EHR Go educational electronic health record learning platform. The deal, with undisclosed terms, is intended to expand Carrus’ healthcare-focused education technology and training offerings.

Finalsite acquired SchoolAdmin, a K-12 enrollment management software provider, to expand its end-to-end digital enrollment capabilities for schools. The combination enhances Finalsite’s offering across website/digital marketing and enrollment workflows including admissions, communications, scheduling, contracts, and tuition billing.

Andera Partners entered into an exclusivity agreement with IK Investment Partners to sell its majority stake in Skill & You to the IK IX Fund, alongside the company’s management team. Skill & You is a vocational e-learning (EdTech) provider and market leader in France and Spain, and the transaction is expected to close in March 2021.

Two Sigma Impact and BayPine made a significant new investment in Penn Foster to accelerate development of its data-driven digital learning platform for workforce and skills-based training. The investors will partner with Penn Foster to add data science and advanced technology capabilities to better align training with labor market needs. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

HSI acquired eLearning provider ej4 to strengthen HSI’s workforce development, HR training, and workplace compliance offerings. ej4 brings a catalog of 1,500+ online courses and an LMS platform, expanding HSI’s training content and capabilities. HSI is majority-owned by Waud Capital Partners, which has supported HSI’s strategy of pursuing strategic acquisitions.

Gryphon Investors has completed a majority investment in Meazure Learning, a provider of exam delivery and online/remote proctoring solutions for academic and professional testing markets. Existing sponsor Eastside Partners and Meazure Learning’s management team will retain significant ownership stakes; financial terms were not disclosed.

Renovus Capital Partners signed a definitive agreement to sell its portfolio company Clinical Education Alliance (CEA), a provider of live and web-based certified continuing medical education (CME) for healthcare professionals. The Riverside Company will acquire Renovus' majority stake in CEA, while Renovus will remain a minority investor to continue supporting the company’s growth.

ACI Learning, backed by Boathouse Capital, has acquired ITProTV to expand its audit, cyber, and IT training offerings across enterprise and consumer markets. ITProTV’s team, content/IP, production capabilities, and customer contracts will be integrated into ACI Learning’s operations, while the ITProTV brand will continue in the market alongside ACI Learning’s broader portfolio.

NewSpring Growth, the growth and expansion strategy of NewSpring, has invested in Skillshare. Skillshare plans to use the proceeds to expand internationally, deepen its U.S. presence, and grow its enterprise offering while investing in tools and marketing to increase engagement and opportunities for teachers.

The Riverside Company invested in Life Sciences Training Institute (LSTI), a provider of on-demand and customized compliance training for pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies. The investment is an add-on to Riverside’s Red Nucleus Enterprises, LLC platform and represents Red Nucleus’ second add-on acquisition.

Colibri Group, an online professional education company backed by Gridiron Capital, acquired HomeCEU, a provider of continuing education for healthcare professionals focused on therapy disciplines. The acquisition adds HomeCEU to Colibri’s healthcare education brand portfolio and expands Colibri’s continuing education and training offerings for rehabilitation and post-acute care professionals.

Renovus Capital Partners announced the sale of Education Management Solutions (EMS) to Collegis Education. The acquisition combines EMS’s learning technology products with Collegis’s education services and technology managed services offerings to expand solutions for higher education and healthcare institutions.

Squla (formally incorporated as Futurewhiz), a portfolio company of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP), has acquired Scoyo, an online learning platform for primary and secondary students in Germany. The deal supports Squla’s international expansion by adding Scoyo’s German market presence and curriculum-based digital learning content to Squla’s education platform.

Surge Private Equity LLC announced and closed an investment in All About Learning Press Inc., a Wisconsin-based publisher of homeschool curriculum products. The transaction was financed with debt provided by Modern Bank, N.A. and Spell Capital Partners, LLC, and Surge plans to support the founders with operational resources to drive growth.

Eagle Merchant Partners (EMP) acquired an equity stake in Code Ninjas, a kids coding education franchise system. The investment is intended to support Code Ninjas’ continued growth across its network of locations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

BV Investment Partners made a significant investment in StraighterLine, an education technology company offering subscription-based, competency-based online courses and learning pathways. The investment is intended to support StraighterLine’s growth across higher education and employer markets. StraighterLine is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Riverside Company acquired Red Nucleus Enterprises, LLC from Renovus Capital Partners. Renovus retained a minority equity interest and will continue to support Riverside in Red Nucleus’s future growth initiatives; financial terms were not disclosed.

Thoma Bravo, LLC completed an all-cash acquisition of Instructure valued at approximately $2 billion in aggregate equity value. Following the closing, Instructure’s common stock ceased trading and the company was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange. Thoma Bravo plans to partner with Instructure’s existing management team to support continued growth in its education technology platforms, including Canvas and Bridge.

NexPhase Capital, LP announced an investment in Surgent, a provider of online and live continuing professional education (CPE) and exam preparation for accounting, finance, and healthcare professionals. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the partnership is intended to support Surgent’s continued expansion, including through technology investment and selective acquisitions.

Wardle Educational Services, Inc., doing business as Peach State Tutoring and Test Prep, completed a sale to Cornerstone Holdings International, LLC. Walden Businesses, Inc. initiated the transaction and served as advisor to the seller, whose owners Kathy and Don Wardle are transitioning into retirement.

Serent Capital portfolio company Digital Architecture ("DIGARC") acquired new|ed (now EXPLORE) and Visual Schedule Builder ("VSB", now REGISTER). The two acquisitions expand DIGARC’s Connected Curriculum platform with curriculum/career exploration and student scheduling, advising, and registration capabilities for higher education institutions.

Kaplan, Inc. acquired SmartPros, Ltd., a provider of accredited professional education and corporate training content and related learning and audit management software. Following shareholder approval of the merger, SmartPros ceased being a public company and became a unit within Kaplan Professional Education.

PLATO Learning, Inc. announced that its stockholders approved a merger agreement under which an affiliate of Thoma Bravo, LLC would acquire the company. The transaction, valued at approximately $143 million, closed the same day and PLATO Learning shares will be delisted from NASDAQ following the closing.
