Apex Service Partners entered into a definitive agreement for Apollo Funds (funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global Management) to acquire a minority stake in the company. Alpine Investors, Apex’s existing investor, will also make an additional investment alongside Apollo to support Apex’s continued growth, including expansion of its national footprint, multi-trade service offerings, and technology/workforce infrastructure.
Ascend, the Arlington, Virginia-based strategic platform for regional accounting and advisory firms backed by Alpine Investors, announced the addition of Maumee, Ohio-based William Vaughan Company. The firm will join the Ascend platform and adopt an alternative practice structure, with WVC Advisors providing tax and advisory services while attest services continue through an independently owned CPA firm.
Oakline Properties, a property-management platform launched by Alpine Investors, has acquired Four Star Realty, a Colorado-based multifamily and student-housing property management firm. Four Star—founded in 1986 and managing more than 5,000 market-rate residential units and 3,000 student housing units—will continue to operate under its current brand and leadership while joining Oakline's expanding Mountain West platform.
Ascend, a private-equity-backed platform for regional accounting and advisory firms, has integrated Tyler, Texas-based Gollob Morgan Peddy into its platform. The addition brings nine partners and approximately 100 professionals (FY24 net revenue of $17.3 million) to Ascend, expanding the platform's Southwest footprint; GMP will adopt an alternative practice structure with GMP Advisors (affiliated with Ascend) providing tax and business advisory services while attest services remain independently owned and licensed.
Oakline Properties, a portfolio company of Alpine Investors, has acquired Drucker + Falk, a Top-50 NMHC multifamily and commercial property management firm. The transaction brings D+F into Oakline's platform (increasing the platform to 65,000+ units managed) while the Drucker and Falk families will remain actively involved in the business.

Astra Service Partners, a division of Orion Group and portfolio company of Alpine Investors, has made an investment in Knott Mechanical, Inc. SC&H Capital advised Knott Mechanical on the transaction. Knott Mechanical, founded in 2002, provides mechanical and HVAC maintenance, repair and retrofit services to over 1,700 buildings across the Mid-Atlantic.

The deal brings Walter Shuffain’s FY23 net revenue of $30.3 million and 114 professionals (including 13 partners) onto Ascend’s platform and expands Ascend’s footprint into the Boston market; terms were not disclosed.
