York Group of Companies Acquires MCS Group

York Group of Companies, a Vaughan-based provider of environmental and infrastructure services, has acquired Toronto-based MCS Group, expanding York's service offerings to include hydrovac excavation, CCTV sewer inspection and flushing, directional drilling and related site services. The acquisition is the first post-investment M&A for York after Fengate Asset Management and the LiUNA Pension Fund invested in the company to provide growth capital.

Yount, Hyde and Barbour Acquires Woodcock & Associates PC

Winchester-based accounting and consulting firm Yount, Hyde and Barbour (YHB) has acquired Fredericksburg-based Woodcock & Associates PC. The deal adds Woodcock's 12 staff and Fredericksburg office to YHB, expanding its construction accounting capabilities and regional footprint; financial terms were not disclosed.

Boyne Capital Acquires McKee Utility Contractors

Boyne Capital (through an affiliate) has partnered with McKee Utility Contractors' management and founding family in a platform investment to acquire McKee Utility Contractors, a water and sewer pipeline and utility infrastructure services provider. The investment will support McKee's growth across municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater projects in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas and help the company capitalize on increased public water/sewer infrastructure spending.

The Building Center, Inc., a privately held building material supplier based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has acquired Mountain Lumber Company, Inc., a lumber and hardware dealer near Boone, North Carolina. The acquisition expands The Building Center's service area into North Carolina's High Country as well as parts of Tennessee and southwest Virginia and is the company's sixth acquisition in seven years.
