Blackford Capital Invests in Aqua‑Leisure Industries

Grand Rapids-based private equity firm Blackford Capital announced a majority investment in Aqua‑Leisure Industries, a Boston-area designer, manufacturer and distributor of water-sport and pool leisure consumer products. Blackford said it will support organic growth, expand distribution and pursue add-on acquisitions while the Aqua‑Leisure management team remains in place; financing partners included Mercantile Bank and Muzinich & Co., with Rush Street advising on debt financing.

AQUALIS Acquires Stormwater Solutions Engineering, LLC

AQUALIS, a portfolio company of DFW Capital Partners and a national sustainable water management provider, has acquired the assets of Stormwater Solutions Engineering, LLC (SSE), a Milwaukee-based civil engineering firm specializing in stormwater management. SSE CEO Carrie Bristoll-Groll will join AQUALIS as Executive Vice President, Engineering Services as the acquisition expands AQUALIS’ engineering capabilities and service offering nationwide.

Fortune Brands Acquires Solar Innovations

Fortune Brands Home & Security (FBHS) acquired Solar Innovations, LLC on January 31, 2022, adding the Pittsburgh-area manufacturer of wide-opening exterior door systems and outdoor enclosures to its Outdoors & Security segment. The deal (up to $63 million net of tax benefits) brings Solar Innovations' ~30 patents, R&D capabilities and ~135 associates into Fortune Brands to accelerate its outdoor living product portfolio and premium door offerings.

TZP Group Acquires Home Brands Group Holdings (Re-Bath)

TZP Group LLC, alongside a group of co-investors, acquired Home Brands Group Holdings Inc., the parent company of Re-Bath, the nation’s largest complete bathroom remodeling franchise. The investment will support Re-Bath’s continued franchise expansion, technology and team investments, and efforts to capture additional market share in the growing residential bathroom remodeling market.

Flexis Capital-Led Consortium Acquires Waterloo Sparkling Water

A Flexis Capital-led investor consortium including Eurazeo Brands, Moore Strategic Ventures, JW Levin Management Partners and Waterloo Capital's investors has acquired Waterloo Sparkling Water. The investors said the recapitalization will provide capital and brand-building expertise to accelerate Waterloo's product, marketing and distribution growth while existing management (CEO Jason Shiver and COO Jeff Arnold) remain in place.
