Aquiline and Level Equity Recapitalize Planet DDS

Canopy Capital Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Cloud 9 Services

Canopy Capital Partners, a Tampa-based private equity firm, acquired a majority stake in Cloud 9 Services (Orlando), a specialist underground water and sewer infrastructure contractor. The founders Rick and Lucy Fender remain involved while day-to-day operations will be led by promoted President Curtis Walker as Canopy positions Cloud 9 as a platform for growth; the deal closed January 31, 2022.

Wind River Environmental Acquires Cloud 9 Services, LLC

Wind River Environmental, a Gryphon Investors–backed environmental services platform, has acquired Cloud 9 Services, LLC, a Florida-based provider of hydro excavation, commercial plumbing, pipelining and underground utility services. The business was a portfolio company of Canopy Capital Management; the acquisition supplements Wind River's central and northern Florida operations and keeps Cloud 9's president Curtis Walker in a senior leadership role.
