Novvia Group Acquires Fox Valley Containers

Novvia Group, a Kelso-backed packaging platform, has acquired Fox Valley Containers, a Crystal Lake, Illinois-based distributor of plastic, metal, corrugated, and glass rigid packaging products. The deal expands Novvia's national distribution footprint and capabilities in the Upper Midwest; financial terms were not disclosed and the existing Fox Valley management team will remain in place.

ACW Flex Pack (Edgewater Portfolio) Acquires Bag Pack, Inc.

ACW Flex Pack, a portfolio company of Edgewater Growth Capital Partners IV, has acquired Bag Pack, Inc., a custom converter of polyethylene bags, mailers, pouches and specialty flexible packaging products. The deal is an add-on to Flex Pack’s platform to expand manufacturing capabilities and capabilities in flexible packaging as the platform pursues additional acquisitions.

ProMach Acquires Modern Packaging

ProMach has acquired Modern Packaging, a Deer Park, New York-based manufacturer of cup and tray filling, sealing and lid-converting equipment for the food and dairy industries. Modern (founded 1989, with over 100 employees) will join ProMach’s Filling Business Line, with its founders remaining in leadership roles as ProMach invests to grow Modern’s capabilities and global reach.

Flexpak, LLC Acquires Preferred Packaging Products, Inc.

Flexpak, LLC, a Shorehill Capital-backed value-added packaging distributor based in Woods Cross, Utah, completed the acquisition of Thornton, Colorado-based Preferred Packaging Products, Inc. on February 1, 2023. The add-on expands Flexpak's geographic footprint into Colorado and adds specialized packaging capabilities serving end markets including electronics, instrumentation, consumer products and healthcare.

Flexpak, LLC Acquires ACE Packaging of AZ

Flexpak, LLC, a Shorehill Capital portfolio company, completed the acquisition of ACE Packaging of AZ on July 1, 2022. ACE, a Phoenix-based value-added distributor of corrugated boxes, stretch film, foam and polybags, will continue operating with former owners Mark Lundberg and Kevin Aldridge in ongoing roles as Flexpak expands its geographic presence into Arizona.

Wind Point Partners Acquires FreshEdge

Chicago-based private equity firm Wind Point Partners has acquired FreshEdge, a leading independent fresh food distributor, from Rotunda Capital Partners. FreshEdge’s existing management team will remain in place and Wind Point will provide capital to expand fresh-cut processing capabilities, warehouse space, infrastructure and pursue strategic acquisitions to grow density across the Midwest and Southeast.
