General Datatech Acquires MDS Global IT

General Datatech (GDT), a portfolio company of HIG Capital, has acquired MDS Global IT to expand GDT’s collaboration and contact center capabilities, including Cisco Unified Collaboration and Unified Contact Center Enterprise expertise. The acquisition adds MDS’s customers across healthcare, retail, banking, technology, and manufacturing to GDT’s client base and strengthens GDT’s global service delivery and scale. Kratos Capital acted as exclusive M&A advisor to MDS; the deal closed on September 24, 2024.

Hg Acquires MDT Software

Hg has completed an investment in MDT Software, a provider of version control and change management software for automated industrial environments, with the former majority owner (Desco Corporation) exiting. Headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, MDT will be aligned with Hg portfolio company Auvesy to form a global partner for industrial automation software; the transaction was made from Hg’s Mercury 3 Fund (terms not disclosed).

Westcap invested in MDT in 2018 and completed the divestiture in 2022 after a period of strong operational performance for the precision-engineering manufacturer of rifle components.

Amwins Group, Inc. has acquired CBIZ M.T. Donahoe & Associates, LLC ("MTDA"), a Maryland-based general agent specializing in employee and individual benefits. MTDA will join Amwins' Group Benefits division (Amwins Connect), with MTDA president Michael Donahoe Jr. joining the Amwins Connect leadership team; terms were not disclosed. The deal strengthens Amwins' Mid-Atlantic presence and provides increased access to carriers and brokers across the region.
