Apax Partners Acquires Cadence Education from Morgan Stanley Capital Partners

Funds advised by Apax Partners have agreed to acquire Cadence Education, a US-based operator of more than 225 private preschools across 40+ brands, from funds managed by Morgan Stanley Capital Partners for an undisclosed sum. Apax said it will support Cadence's management team to continue growth through strategic acquisitions and expansion of operational capabilities; the transaction was expected to close in March 2020.

Cadence Education, a leading U.S. early childhood education provider based in Scottsdale, Arizona, has acquired The Suzuki School and the Montessori Teacher Education Institute (MTEI) of Atlanta. The deals add three Montessori campuses in Atlanta (Buckhead, Northside Drive, Ponce City Market) and bring an accredited Montessori teacher training institute into Cadence’s platform to support Montessori program growth and staff development in the Southeast.

SchoolMint, a PE-backed provider of Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) software, has acquired Indianapolis-based Bright Minds Marketing to expand its marketing and enrollment consulting capabilities for PreK-12 schools in the U.S. The acquisition integrates Bright Minds' personalized marketing and enrollment services into SchoolMint's SaaS platform to help schools attract, enroll, and retain students and staff.
