Getinge Acquires Paragonix Technologies

Getinge has completed the acquisition of Paragonix Technologies, a U.S. developer of organ preservation devices and transplant logistics services, for an estimated total consideration of USD 477 million (including earn-outs). The deal will make Paragonix a wholly owned subsidiary of Getinge and is intended to expand Getinge's transplant product portfolio and bring Paragonix's technologies to new global markets.

Getinge Acquires Healthmark Industries Co. Inc.

Getinge (Gothenburg, Sweden) has acquired 100% of Healthmark Industries Co. Inc. (Fraser, Michigan, USA) for approximately USD 320 million, a deal that closed following the HSR waiting period. Healthmark, a maker of instrument-care and infection-control consumables with ~400 employees and expected FY2023 net sales of about USD 126 million, will complement Getinge’s sterile reprocessing equipment, consumables and software and accelerate Healthmark’s international expansion.

Veranex Acquires Devicia, Clarvin and Affiliate Consultancies

Veranex, a global tech-enabled medtech service provider, acquired an ecosystem of Swedish medical device and IVD consultancies led by Devicia and Clarvin (including affiliates Kickfile, Lea Reg, and Limulus Bio). The add-on expands Veranex's regulatory, clinical, quality assurance, and biocompatibility capabilities and strengthens its European and UK presence to support MDR/IVDR strategies and local representation.

Veranex Acquires Fusion Biotec

Veranex has acquired Fusion Biotec, a Southern California design and engineering firm specializing in complex electro-mechanical diagnostic instrumentation and medical devices. The acquisition brings Fusion's 15,000-square-foot facility and 45+ engineering staff into Veranex's Product Design & Engineering capabilities, expanding Veranex's diagnostic/IVD development, software/firmware reuse and Southern California footprint; financial terms were not disclosed.

Veeva Systems Acquires Crossix Solutions for $430 Million

Veeva Systems acquired Crossix Solutions for $430 million in a transaction announced September 26, 2019 and closed November 1, 2019. Crossix — a privacy-safe patient data and analytics provider headquartered in New York City — will operate as an independent business unit within Veeva, with Crossix CEO Asaf Evenhaim continuing to lead; certain Crossix employees received long-term equity retention grants valued at about $120 million.

Medix Biochemica Acquires ViroStat LLC

Medix Biochemica has acquired 100% of ViroStat LLC, a US-based manufacturer of infectious disease antibodies and antigens, expanding Medix's IVD raw materials portfolio and scientific capabilities. ViroStat will continue operating in Westbrook, Maine, and its employees and leadership (including President Dr. Douglas McAllister and General Manager Duncan McAllister) will join Medix Biochemica.
