H.I.G. Capital Acquires CPS Building Services Limited

H.I.G. Capital, through an affiliate, has acquired CPS Building Services Limited, a Cambridgeshire-based mechanical and electrical (M&E) installation and maintenance provider, from its founder; CPS' managing director Liam Connelly will reinvest and the existing management team will remain in place. H.I.G. plans to use CPS as the core of a technical building services platform and pursue add-on acquisitions to expand capabilities in fire protection, lifts, water & pumps, access and security, and compliance services.

H.I.G. Capital Affiliate Acquires Axis Europe Limited

An affiliate of H.I.G. Capital has acquired Axis Europe Limited, a UK property maintenance services provider, from founder and owner John Hayes. Hayes will reinvest and join the board, and H.I.G. plans to combine Axis with its existing portfolio company CLC Group to create a leading national property maintenance specialist; financial terms were not disclosed.

An affiliate of H.I.G. Capital has acquired CLC Group Limited from the Armitage Family Trust, with the Armitage family trust and CLC management reinvesting alongside H.I.G. The UK-based property and asset refurbishment provider operates roughly 15 branches and offers refurbishment, electrical and fire protection services to social housing, local government, defence, hospitality and utilities clients; H.I.G. intends to support service and geographic expansion and pursue add-on acquisitions.

Ascent's management team and Elliott will retain minority stakes; H.I.G. said it will support Ascent's growth by investing in technology, broadening capabilities, expanding global reach and enhancing its carrier network.

Capital has completed the acquisition/recapitalization of Action Elevator, a regional provider of elevator maintenance, repair and modernization services headquartered in Millersville, Maryland. Action's leadership retains a significant ownership stake and, concurrently with the transaction, Action acquired Century Elevator to expand its presence in the Washington, D.C. market.
