Meyer Lab announced it has acquired AmChem Industrial, an Atlanta-area supplier of industrial and specialty cleaning chemicals. Meyer Lab said the acquisition supports its growth objectives by strengthening its presence in the Southeast and Texas and deepening customer relationships. Integration is already underway, with AmChem operations fully integrated into Meyer Lab.

Lesaffre Acquires 70% Stake in Biorigin from Zilor

Lesaffre has agreed to acquire a 70% majority stake in Biorigin, a yeast-derivatives business unit of Brazilian agribusiness Zilor, with Zilor retaining a 30% interest. The deal (subject to customary approvals, including CADE) gives Lesaffre control of Biorigin's production footprint in São Paulo (including a plant in Quatá) and is intended to expand Lesaffre's yeast-derivative capabilities and global savory-ingredient supply; the move follows Lesaffre's related collaboration to acquire DSM-Firmenich's yeast-extract go-to-market organization and know-how.

Sapporo Holdings Acquires Anchor Brewing Company

Sapporo Holdings Limited will acquire all equity interest in Anchor Brewing Company from parent Anchor Brewers & Distillers, LLC for $85 million, in a deal expected to close on August 31, 2017. Sapporo said the acquisition supports its "SPEED 150" plan to expand its North American beer business and will keep brewing operations in San Francisco while leveraging Sapporo's global distribution to grow Anchor internationally.
