OMERS Private Equity has partnered with Great Expressions' existing management to acquire GEDC Super Holdings Inc. ("Great Expressions") from affiliates of Audax Group. Great Expressions is a leading dental practice management company headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, operating 152 affiliated dental offices across seven U.S. states with roughly 1,800 clinical and support staff; OMERS said it will support continued growth, initially focusing on Florida, Georgia and Michigan.

The transaction closed on December 30, 2021, and Amazing Dental founders Dawsar Najor and Dr. Nawras Najor will join Great Expressions in leadership roles to support continued growth and integration.

Oakley Capital Acquires Flemming Dental, Excent and Artinorway Group

Oakley Capital Fund V has agreed to acquire Flemming Dental, Excent and Artinorway Group in a carve-out from European Dental Group (EDG), creating an independent pan‑European dental laboratories group. Oakley will partner with the existing management team — including Excent co‑founder Hidde Hoeve — to pursue a buy‑and‑build growth strategy focused on digitalisation, international expansion and targeted M&A.

Partners Group Acquires Majority Stake in Forefront Dermatology from OMERS Private Equity

GTCR Acquires dentalcorp Holdings Ltd. for C$2.2B

Funds affiliated with GTCR LLC completed a C$11.00-per-share all-cash acquisition of dentalcorp Holdings Ltd., valuing the company at approximately C$2.2 billion equity (C$3.3 billion enterprise value). The deal results in the delisting of dentalcorp from the TSX; founder Graham Rosenberg and CFO Nate Tchaplia rolled a portion of their equity into the new GTCR-affiliated ownership structure while LC8 DCC Investment Borrower, L.P. (managed by L Catterton) exchanged its subordinate voting shares for cash.

Smile Brands Acquires Gateway Dental

Smile Brands Inc., a Gryphon Investors–backed dental support organization based in Irvine, California, has partnered with Gateway Dental in Seattle to provide full-service administrative support while the practice continues to operate under its existing brand. Gateway Dental, founded in 1992 and led by Dr. G. Glenn Buchanan and Dr. John Kim, will keep its existing staff of 14 and retain clinical operations while Smile Brands supplies purchasing, payroll, IT, billing, facilities and marketing support.
