Gryphon Investors Acquires Wittichen Supply Company

Gryphon Investors has acquired Wittichen Supply Company, a Birmingham, Alabama–headquartered wholesale distributor of HVAC/R equipment, parts and supplies with 25 locations across Alabama, Georgia and Florida. The acquisition (financial terms undisclosed) will serve as a platform for Gryphon's Heritage Fund to pursue further industry investments while management remains in place with Charles Herring named president.

Gryphon Investors has acquired Ed's Supply Company, a Nashville-based wholesale HVAC/R distributor with 19 locations across Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee, and will operate it as an independent division of its Heritage Distribution Holdings platform. Financial terms were not disclosed; the existing management team will remain in place with former president Steve Byram becoming an advisor and Tucker Byram named President. The deal expands Heritage Distribution Holdings' multi-region HVAC/R footprint in the Southeast.

Heritage Distribution Holdings Acquires Coastal Supply Company

Heritage Distribution Holdings, the Gryphon Investors-backed HVAC/R distribution platform, has acquired Coastal Supply Company Inc., a 40-year-old, family-owned HVAC/R distributor based in Knoxville, Tennessee with six branch locations. Coastal will operate under HDH’s Ed’s Supply division and remain led by General Manager David Kennedy as part of HDH’s continued geographic expansion in the Southeast.

Trinity Hunt Partners Acquires Blackhawk Supply to Launch HVAC Distribution Platform

Trinity Hunt Partners has made a majority investment in Blackhawk Supply, a Hoffman Estates, Illinois-based specialty distributor of HVAC parts, to establish a national HVAC distribution platform. Trinity Hunt appointed Troy Vellinga as CEO and Jason Lewis as Chief Development Officer and intends to scale the business through organic initiatives and buy-and-build add-on acquisitions.

Beijer Ref Acquires Heritage Distribution Holdings from Gryphon Investors

Beijer Ref AB has signed a binding agreement to acquire Heritage Distribution Holdings from Gryphon Investors for USD 1,275 million (USD 1,175 million excluding certain tax benefits). Heritage Distribution, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, operates a 64-branch HVAC/R parts and equipment distribution platform across ten U.S. states with approximately 800 employees; the acquisition is Beijer Ref's strategic entry into the North American market and provides a platform for further consolidation.

BSC Industries (Benford Capital) Acquires Gipson Bearing & Supply Co.

Benford Capital Partners’ portfolio company BSC Industries has acquired Gipson Bearing & Supply Co., a third-generation distributor of precision bearings and industrial MRO components headquartered in West Homestead, Pennsylvania. The add-on expands BSC’s geographic footprint into Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, creates cross-selling opportunities across both customer bases, and will retain Gipson’s employees; terms were not disclosed.
