TransUnion has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sontiq, a consumer identity protection company headquartered in Nottingham, Maryland, for $638 million. The deal (from portfolio owner The Wicks Group) expands TransUnion’s consumer identity and cyber protection offerings—Sontiq generated about $85 million of revenue in 2021 with an ~40% adjusted EBITDA margin and was acquired at ~19x FY2021 adjusted EBITDA; the transaction was expected to close in Q4 2021.
