Velan Inc. announced the closing of the sale of its controlling shareholder’s interest in Velan Holding Co. Ltd. to funds managed by Birch Hill Equity Partners Management Inc. Birch Hill acquired about 72.1% of Velan’s outstanding shares (91.9% of voting rights) for aggregate gross proceeds of C$203.9 million to Velan Holding and related shareholder entities.
