Energy Fuels to Acquire VAC for $1.9 Billion Equity Value

Energy Fuels has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of Vacuumschmelze GmbH & Co. KG (VAC) and related entities, from Ara Partners, valuing the deal at approximately $1.9 billion (cash-and-stock consideration). VAC’s advanced magnetics capabilities—along with its U.S. Sumter facility—will be combined with Energy Fuels’ upstream rare earth mining and processing to form an integrated “mine-to-magnet” rare earth platform. The transaction is expected to close in early 2027, subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.
