Remington Hotels / Ashford Acquires Chesapeake Hospitality

Remington Hotels, a wholly-owned portfolio company of Ashford Inc., has acquired Chesapeake Hospitality for initial consideration of $15.75 million (paid $6.3M cash and $9.45M in a new convertible preferred unit) with up to $10.25 million of additional earnout consideration, for a potential total of $26 million. The deal expands Remington's third-party hotel management business—adding IHG properties and the 877-key Showboat Atlantic City—growing the combined portfolio to 121 hotels and increasing Remington's third-party mix from ~20% to ~40%.

Hyatt Hotels Corporation Acquires Standard International

Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced it will acquire the brands and most affiliates of Standard International, the parent company of The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels, forming a new dedicated lifestyle group headquartered in New York City. The asset-light transaction covers management, franchise and license contracts for 21 open hotels (about 2,000 rooms) and includes a $150 million base purchase price with up to $185 million of contingent consideration.

Peachtree Hotel Group Acquires Nine Hotels in $300M Portfolio Push

Peachtree Hotel Group announced it acquired nine hotels across the United States as part of a record $2.0 billion total investment activity in 2021, with approximately $300 million deployed into those hotel acquisitions. The purchases include select- and limited-service branded properties in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, Texas and California as Peachtree grows its owned and managed lodging portfolio.

Consolidated Hospitality Supplies Holdings (CHS), a platform backed by HCI Equity Partners, acquired the inventory and select North American operating assets of American Hotel Register Company — including the Registry brand. The deal combines CHS's Amtex business with American Hotel assets to create a larger hospitality supplies platform, expanding product range, national fulfillment capability and market share; financial terms were not disclosed.

MCR Acquires Six Marriott and Hilton Hotels in Texas and New Mexico

MCR, the U.S. hotel owner-operator, acquired a six-property portfolio of Marriott and Hilton-branded hotels totaling 603 rooms across the Dallas–Fort Worth area and Santa Fe, New Mexico. The portfolio includes two Marriott-branded properties and four Hilton-branded properties, many of them recent-build and with a significant extended-stay/all-suite component.
