Chouest Group Acquires Kystdesign

The Chouest Group has acquired Kystdesign, an Aksdal, Norway-based manufacturer of remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems, to strengthen its subsea technology and underwater robotics capabilities. The deal brings Kystdesign into Chouest's global operations (approaching 20,000 employees) and the first integrated ROV system under the partnership is already in development.

Crewless Marine co‑founders Dr. Steve Bordonaro and Dr. Philip Caspers will join Vatn in senior engineering roles; financial terms were not disclosed. The deal strengthens Vatn’s vertical integration, reduces supply‑chain dependencies, and accelerates development of AUV acoustic capabilities for defense and environmental markets.

Nauticus Robotics Acquires 3D at Depth

Nauticus Robotics (NASDAQ: KITT) agreed to acquire 3D at Depth, a Colorado-based subsea LiDAR and inspection services provider, in an all-stock transaction valuing the deal at approximately $34 million (before adjustments) and assuming about $4.1 million of debt. The acquisition brings 3D's subsea laser LiDAR technology, data services, and patent portfolio to Nauticus, expanding its autonomous underwater capabilities and commercial addressable market in offshore energy and renewables.
