GIC Acquires Cinven's Stake in Miller

Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC has agreed to acquire Cinven’s shareholding in Miller, making GIC the majority shareholder in the specialist insurance and reinsurance broker. Miller, headquartered in London with more than 900 employees and placing over $3.2bn of premiums annually, was previously acquired by Cinven and GIC from Willis Towers Watson in 2021; Cinven’s sale completes its exit.

TowerBrook Capital Partners Acquires Premium Credit from Cinven

TowerBrook Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Premium Credit Limited, a UK-based provider of premium finance and specialist lending solutions, from Cinven. The deal (expected to close in H2 2022) transfers ownership to TowerBrook, which plans to support Premium Credit's continued growth by leveraging its technology platform and financial-services expertise; financial terms were not disclosed.

Cinven Acquires Majority Stake in BioAgilytix; Cobepa Reinvests

International private equity firm Cinven has agreed to acquire a majority stake in BioAgilytix through a recapitalization, with current investor Cobepa remaining a significant minority investor. GHO Capital has realised its investment and will exit; the transaction will provide funding to support BioAgilytix’s international expansion, capacity and capability investments, and buy-and-build strategy in large-molecule bioanalytical services. BioAgilytix is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina and employs about 870 staff across the United States, Europe and Australia.

Preqin Acquires Colmore

Preqin has acquired Colmore, a private markets technology, services and fund administration business, to expand its capabilities across the private market investment lifecycle. The deal (closed August 5, 2021) will combine Colmore's portfolio monitoring, analytics and fund administration services with Preqin's alternative assets data and benchmarks; terms were not disclosed and Ben Cook will remain CEO of Colmore.

Cinven and GIC have agreed to acquire Miller, a London-headquartered specialist insurance and (re)insurance broker, from Miller’s partners and corporate member Willis Towers Watson. Miller employs more than 640 people across major insurance hubs, places about £2 billion of premiums annually, and the buyers plan to accelerate growth through independent ownership, organic expansion and selective bolt-on M&A.

BCI and Preservation Capital Partners Invest in BMS Group at £500M Valuation

British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) and Preservation Capital Partners (PCP) agreed to invest in UK-headquartered insurance broker BMS Group at a valuation of £500 million (USD 636 million). The transaction, expected to close in Q3 2019 subject to regulatory approvals, is a minority/growth investment that leaves BMS management and staff as significant shareholders and supports the firm's continued independent growth.
