City Capital Ventures Majority Investment in Rackson Restaurants

City Capital Ventures (CCV) has made a majority investment in Rackson Restaurants, a Bridgewater, New Jersey-based Burger King and Popeyes franchisee operating 55+ quick-service restaurants across six Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic states. The investment brings an investor group that includes Saxonwold Capital (led by Rob Selati) and will support Rackson's plan to scale as a multi-branded QSR platform across the Northeastern U.S.; MUFG provided senior debt financing.

Salt Creek Capital Acquires Infinity RRGB Ventures, Inc

Salt Creek Capital, a San Francisco Bay Area private equity firm, has acquired Infinity RRGB Ventures, Inc., the exclusive Canadian franchisee and operator of Red Robin restaurants in British Columbia. The transaction transfers ownership from longtime owner Sudhir Santos while keeping CEO Jamie Reeves and the existing management team in place to drive future growth across Infinity's 11 locations.

Restaurant Brands International and CPE Form Burger King China Joint Venture

Restaurant Brands International (RBI) announced a joint venture with Chinese investment firm CPE in which CPE will invest $350 million to expand Burger King China from about 1,250 restaurants to more than 4,000 by 2035. After closing (expected in Q1 2026 subject to regulatory approvals), CPE will hold 83% of the newly formed Burger King China entity, while RBI will retain about 17% and a board seat.

Clairvest Makes Minority Investment in Redstone Food Group

Clairvest Group Inc., together with its fund Clairvest Equity Partners VII (CEP VII), made a minority equity investment in Redstone Food Group, a Toronto-area commercial bakery focused on in-store bakery and private-label co-packing. Restaurant Brands International Acquires Remaining Stakes in Burger King China

A subsidiary of Restaurant Brands International (RBI) acquired the equity interests in Burger King China from TFI Asia Holdings BV and Pangaea Two Acquisition Holdings XXIII, Ltd (Cartesian) for approximately $158 million in cash, bringing RBI's ownership to nearly 100%. RBI said it will engage advisors to identify a new local operating partner to inject capital and become the controlling shareholder as part of a strategy to support long-term growth in China.

Restaurant Brands International Acquires Carrols Restaurant Group

Restaurant Brands International (RBI) completed an all-cash acquisition of Carrols Restaurant Group on May 16 for approximately $1.0 billion (at $9.55 per share). RBI said it will invest an additional $500 million to reimage more than 600 restaurants and plans to refranchise most of the acquired units over the next seven years; Carrols operated 1,023 Burger King restaurants across 23 states and 59 Popeyes restaurants in six states.
