Goldman Sachs Alternatives Takes Majority Stake in Crystal Group

The Private Equity business at Goldman Sachs Alternatives has agreed to become the majority shareholder in French wealth manager Crystal, alongside Crystal's management team led by Bruno Narchal and Jean-Maximilien Vancayezeele; Seven2 will remain a c.25% shareholder. Crystal, founded in 1992, manages around €22 billion AUM (pro forma for recent acquisitions) and said the investment will support growth in France and internationally, including significant investments in digital and AI. The transaction is subject to regulatory and antitrust approvals.

Credit Suisse Acquires The Klein Group (MK&C) for $175M

Credit Suisse Group AG has acquired The Klein Group LLC (MK&C), the investment banking business of M. Klein & Company LLC, for USD 175 million. The seller will receive equity exposure in CS First Boston via a convertible note and warrant, and Michael Klein will be appointed CEO of Banking, CEO Americas and designated CEO of CS First Boston. The deal is intended to strengthen and accelerate the carveout and build-out of CS First Boston as an independent capital markets and advisory-led business.

Sesami Acquires ARCA to Expand Cash Automation Capabilities

FactSet Acquires CUSIP Global Services from S&P Global

FactSet completed the acquisition of CUSIP Global Services (CGS) from S&P Global Inc. for approximately $1.925 billion, adding CGS into its Content and Technology Solutions business. CGS will continue to steward the CUSIP system in partnership with the American Bankers Association, and FactSet financed the transaction with a combination of senior notes, new credit facilities and cash on hand.

UBS Acquires Credit Suisse

UBS Group AG agreed to acquire Credit Suisse Group AG in a government-supported deal announced March 2023, with Credit Suisse shareholders receiving UBS shares as consideration. The transaction (and subsequent merger of the Swiss operating entities) was structured to stabilize Credit Suisse, expand UBS's wealth and asset-management scale, and realize cost synergies across the combined bank.

Cetera Financial Group Acquires Concourse Financial Group Securities (CFGS) from Protective Life

Cetera Financial Group completed an asset acquisition of Concourse Financial Group Securities, Inc. (CFGS), a subsidiary of Protective Life Corporation. Approximately 350 financial professionals and more than $12 billion in assets under administration ($4 billion AUM) transitioned to Cetera Wealth Partners as part of Protective's divestiture to focus on its core insurance business.
