Labcorp Acquires RWJBarnabas Health Outreach Laboratory Business

Labcorp has closed the acquisition of RWJBarnabas Health’s outreach laboratory business and select related assets, expanding Labcorp’s diagnostic footprint and patient access across New Jersey. The deal transfers RWJBarnabas Health’s outreach testing operations to Labcorp to provide an expanded test menu, enhanced connectivity, and broader patient service coverage; terms were not disclosed.

Labcorp Acquires Certain BioReference Health Laboratory Assets for $237.5M

Labcorp will acquire certain laboratory testing businesses and operating assets from Opko Health subsidiary BioReference Health for $237.5 million. The assets — which generate roughly $100 million in annual revenue — include patient service centers and select customer contracts across the U.S. (excluding New York and New Jersey); BioReference Health will retain its oncology and urology diagnostic businesses and full operations in New York and New Jersey. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2024, subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

Avalon GloboCare to Acquire Majority Interest in Laboratory Services MSO

Avalon GloboCare Corp. signed a definitive agreement to acquire a 60% interest in Laboratory Services MSO, LLC for total consideration of $31 million (cash, preferred stock and contingent payments). Laboratory Services is a Costa Mesa, California-based reference laboratory with 2021 unaudited revenue in excess of $25 million and two California locations; co-founder Sarah Cox will join Avalon as COO and a director. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and financing and is expected to close within the timeline described in the agreement.

MLM Medical Labs Acquires MD Biosciences, Inc.

MLM Medical Labs, a Great Point Partners portfolio company, has acquired MD Biosciences, Inc., an Oakdale, Minnesota-based provider of preclinical, translational and clinical-phase contract research services. The deal expands MLM's U.S. footprint and adds immunohistochemistry, preclinical research and histopathology capabilities to its global laboratory platform as part of an integration with recent U.S. additions such as CirQuest Labs.
