Smith System Driver Improvement Institute, a portfolio company of Levine Leichtman Capital Partners, has acquired Driving Dynamics, a Newark, Delaware-based provider of driver safety training for commercial fleets. The add-on expands Smith System's training capabilities (virtual and in-person classroom, behind-the-wheel, eLearning and risk management) and further consolidates its market position in fleet safety services.

TransForce Group Acquires United States Truck Driving School (USTDS)

TransForce Group, majority owned by an affiliate of Palladium Equity Partners, acquired United States Truck Driving School (USTDS) in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the sale finalized October 18, 2021. USTDS will retain its name and become part of The CDL School (a TransForce Group company), expanding TransForce's CDL training footprint and veteran placement programs as an add-on under Palladium's ownership.

Solera Holdings, Inc. acquired eDriving, a provider of smartphone-based driver risk management and telematics solutions, to expand its fleet-focused data and software capabilities into driver behavior and risk analytics. The deal integrates eDriving's Mentor app, FICO Safe Driving Score and Virtual Risk Manager platform with Solera's existing fleet solutions to offer end-to-end vehicle and driver performance services to commercial fleets globally.

160 Driving Academy Acquires National Tractor Trailer School Locations in Buffalo and Liverpool, NY

160 Driving Academy acquired the National Tractor Trailer School (NTTS) campuses in Buffalo and Liverpool, New York from Swift Transportation, reopening the locations and resuming student enrollment after NTTS had previously closed. The deal expands 160 Driving Academy's footprint in upstate New York (joining its Rochester campus) as the company continues national growth of its CDL training network.
