DigitalBridge and Brookfield Infrastructure to Acquire 51% of GD Towers

DigitalBridge Group (NYSE: DBRG) and funds affiliated with its investment management arm, together with Brookfield Infrastructure and its institutional partners, have agreed to acquire a 51% ownership stake in GD Towers, the mobile telecommunications tower business of Deutsche Telekom AG. The transaction values GD Towers at €17.5 billion (including assumption of net debt) and is expected to close in late 2022, subject to regulatory approvals. Deutsche Telekom will retain a 49% minority stake after the deal closes.

Stonepeak to Acquire TeleTower From Bitė Group (Providence Portfolio Company)

Stonepeak agreed to acquire TeleTower, Bitė Group’s towers business in Lithuania and Latvia. The transaction is expected to close in Q2 2026 and is intended to create the first fully independent tower company in the Baltics, supported by a long-term commercial partnership with Bitė for further tower rollouts and 5G expansion.

DigitalBridge Investment Management Acquires Controlling Stake in Vertical Bridge

Funds affiliated with DigitalBridge Investment Management have acquired a controlling stake in Vertical Bridge Holdings, LLC, the largest private owner and operator of wireless communications infrastructure in the United States. The investment consolidates ownership to support Vertical Bridge’s continued scaling across more than 308,000 sites (including 8,000+ towers) and to capitalize on growing demand for 5G and other next-generation telecom infrastructure.

DigitalBridge has formed EdgePoint Infrastructure, a Southeast Asia-focused wireless towers platform led by Suresh Sidhu, and is building scale through multiple acquisitions and asset purchases. EdgePoint has secured over 10,000 sites across Indonesia and Malaysia, including a controlling stake in PT Centratama Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk, the purchase of 4,247 towers from Indosat Ooredoo (sale‑leaseback), and the acquisition of Asiaspace in Malaysia to accelerate 5G infrastructure deployment.

DigitalBridge Acquires Majority Stake in JTOWER to Take Company Private

DigitalBridge, through its special-purpose entity DB Pyramid Holdings, acquired a 75.62% controlling interest in Japanese tower operator JTOWER for JPY 70.1 billion and plans to take the company private. The deal strengthens DigitalBridge’s digital infrastructure footprint in Japan and positions JTOWER to accelerate deployment of shared telecom infrastructure and in‑building solutions across the country.

Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus Acquire T-Mobile Netherlands for €5.1bn

Funds advised by Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus have agreed to acquire T-Mobile Netherlands Holding B.V. from Deutsche Telekom AG and Tele2 AB in a deal valuing the company at an enterprise value of €5.1 billion. Under the new ownership, T-Mobile Netherlands will become an independent Dutch company and the buyers plan to support management in accelerating network and fibre-to-the-home growth while continuing to expand its consumer and fixed-broadband customer base.
