PDI Technologies has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Orbis Technologies Ltd, a provider of cloud-based point-of-sale (POS), back-office, and head-office solutions, expanding PDI’s international cloud POS and back-office capabilities. As part of the move PDI named industry veteran Brad McGuinness as Senior Vice President of Point of Sale Solutions to lead the combined POS offering.

Insight Venture Partners Acquires PDI (Professional Datasolutions, Inc.)

Insight Venture Partners led an investment to acquire Professional Datasolutions, Inc. (PDI), a provider of enterprise software for convenience retail, wholesale petroleum and fuel logistics. Harvest Partners' non-control SCF vehicle also invested to support the transaction while existing investors Genstar Capital and TA Associates retained minority stakes; proceeds will be used to accelerate PDI's global growth, product innovation and strategic add-on activity.

PDI Technologies Acquires Comdata Merchant Solutions

PDI Technologies has acquired the Comdata Merchant Solutions business from Corpay Inc., taking ownership of the POS hardware, software and site-level systems that serve truck stops and unattended commercial fueling locations. Corpay (Comdata) will retain its fuel card and merchant acceptance network, while PDI will become an approved provider of Comdata transactions and invest in expanding the POS capabilities.

Tech24 Acquires United Service Technologies

Tech24, backed by HCI Equity Partners, acquired United Service Technologies on April 13, 2021 as the fourth add-on in HCI's consolidation strategy. The acquisition expands Tech24's geographic footprint (adding locations in California, Texas and Nevada) and gives the platform entry into the grocery / supermarket end market; financial terms were not disclosed.

UFP Technologies Acquires Universal Plastics & Engineering (UNIPEC) and Techno Plastics Industries (TPI)

UFP Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: UFPT) acquired Universal Plastics & Engineering Company, Inc. (UNIPEC) of Rockville, Maryland, and Techno Plastics Industries, Inc. (TPI) of Añasco, Puerto Rico to expand its film and thermoplastic molding capabilities for the medical device market. UNIPEC (≈$5M revenue, $2M EBITDA) and TPI (≈$10M revenue, $1M EBITDA) will bolster UFP's thin-film and injection-molding capacity for implantable and other high-barrier medical applications; the deals were financed with cash and borrowings under UFP's credit facility.
