John Deere Acquires Sentera to Integrate Aerial Field Scouting

John Deere has acquired Sentera, a St. Paul, Minnesota–based provider of drone-mounted cameras and FieldAgent agronomic software. The deal will integrate Sentera's high-resolution imagery and prescription-generation capabilities into the John Deere Operations Center to expand the company’s precision-ag technology and deliver more actionable data to farmers, agronomists and equipment partners.

GrowerIQ Acquires Ample Organics from Akerna

Toronto-based GrowerIQ has acquired fellow cannabis software provider Ample Organics from U.S.-based Akerna in an all-cash deal that closed in December; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Ample's seven employees onto GrowerIQ's ~25-person team and combines two seed-to-sale ERP platforms to create what GrowerIQ calls the largest cannabis tech platform in Canada (and a stronger position in Europe).

Alpine 4 Holdings (A4) has acquired Identified Technologies, a Pittsburgh-based drone mapping software and managed services provider. The business will be integrated into Alpine 4's A4 Aerospace portfolio to add drone mapping and analytics capabilities to the company's aerospace offerings.

Terra Drone Invests in Aloft Technologies

Japan-based Terra Drone has invested in Aloft Technologies, becoming Aloft's largest shareholder and making the company an affiliate. The deal gives Terra Drone a foothold in the U.S. market and aims to accelerate global UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) development by combining Aloft's FAA-approved LAANC and fleet-management platform with Terra Drone's AAM capabilities.

Accenture Acquires Intellera Consulting

Accenture has completed the acquisition of Intellera Consulting, an Italian consulting firm focused on public sector and healthcare digital transformation. The deal, announced in April and completed in May 2024, adds roughly 1,400 professionals from Intellera (backed by Gyrus Capital) to Accenture's Italian operations to expand its data, AI and public-sector capabilities.

Agile Defense, a PE-backed government technology provider, has acquired IntelliBridge, a digital transformation and mission-focused technology firm supporting defense, homeland security, and federal civilian customers. Both companies are backed by Enlightenment Capital; the combination expands Agile Defense’s capabilities in data analytics, cyber, and AI and doubles the organization to more than 2,000 employees, while Agile Defense also announced a strategic partnership with Second Front Systems to accelerate AI-enabled DevSecOps delivery.
