Alpine 4 Technologies Acquires Impossible Aerospace

Alpine 4 Technologies entered into a binding merger agreement to acquire Impossible Aerospace, a U.S. developer of long-endurance electric aircraft and drones, in a reverse triangular merger that will make Impossible Aerospace a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal (announced Nov 17, 2020) brings Alpine 4 into the commercial/unmanned aerial vehicle market and retains Impossible Aerospace CEO Spencer Gore to support integration and military/commercial contract pursuits; prior investors in Impossible Aerospace included Bessemer Venture Partners, Eclipse Ventures and Airbus Ventures.

Alpine 4 Technologies Acquires Vayu (U.S.), Inc.

Alpine 4 Technologies, Ltd. entered into a binding LOI to acquire Vayu (U.S.), Inc., a maker of hybrid VTOL autonomous aircraft, in a reverse triangular merger that will make Vayu a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal adds VTOL aircraft, autopilot software and expanded capabilities to Alpine 4's aerospace holdings (complementing Impossible Aerospace) and is intended to accelerate medical delivery, infrastructure inspection and other commercial UAV opportunities; Vayu CEO Daniel Pepper will remain in place.

Terra Drone Invests in Aloft Technologies

Japan-based Terra Drone has invested in Aloft Technologies, becoming Aloft's largest shareholder and making the company an affiliate. The deal gives Terra Drone a foothold in the U.S. market and aims to accelerate global UTM (Unmanned Traffic Management) development by combining Aloft's FAA-approved LAANC and fleet-management platform with Terra Drone's AAM capabilities.

The acquisition expands Alpine 4's Construction Services portfolio and adds fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair capabilities serving industrial and food & beverage customers across the western United States.

Intelinair Acquires Aker Technologies

Intelinair, an Indianapolis-based provider of aerial imagery and analytics (AGMRI), has acquired Aker Technologies, a digital agronomy and drone-imagery company based in Effingham, Illinois. The deal expands Intelinair’s drone capabilities and product offerings, enhancing its AGMRI platform and operational capacity to better serve farmers and ag retailers; terms were not disclosed.

AirMap Acquires Hangar Technology

AirMap acquired Hangar Technology, a drone workflow automation platform, to expand its enterprise-focused airspace management capabilities and integrate high-precision flight planning and automated image processing into its platform. Hangar will retain its headquarters and team in Austin, Texas, while its JobSight and TowerSight products gain access to AirMap's international developer and enterprise ecosystem.
