First State Investments Acquires 40% Stake in Terra‑Gen from Energy Capital Partners

First State Investments (FSI) has agreed to acquire a 40% stake in renewable-energy developer and operator Terra‑Gen from Energy Capital Partners (ECP); terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to close in Q4 2020 or early 2021 subject to regulatory approvals. Terra‑Gen, headquartered in New York, owns and operates utility-scale wind, solar, energy storage and geothermal assets (over 1,600 MW operating and more than 3,000 MW under advanced development); FSI said the investment will help execute the company’s growth plan.

ERA Partners LLC announced a majority equity investment in GeoTility Systems Corp., a Kelowna, British Columbia–based geoexchange utility provider that offers heating-and-cooling-as-a-service (HCaaS) and full design-build geoexchange solutions. The investment is intended to accelerate GeoTility’s expansion across Canada and the United States, scaling its portfolio (more than 1,000 HCaaS systems) and expanding deployments to residential, multi-family, commercial, and industrial real estate.

EQT Active Core Infrastructure Acquires Majority Stake in Tion Renewables

KG and its Hopper BidCo GmbH vehicle, has agreed to acquire a majority stake (82.1% aggregate interest via agreements) in Germany-headquartered renewable energy producer Tion Renewables AG from Pelion Green Future Alpha GmbH. The transaction values Tion at a base equity value of €150 million and is intended to support the company’s growth into a leading platform for solar, wind and battery storage projects across Europe.
