San Diego-based private equity firm Verde Equity Partners has acquired Green-Tech Landcare, a commercial landscaping provider in Southern California. The deal is the third transaction in Verde's planned vertical roll-up strategy to consolidate owner-operated commercial landscape companies across the Western U.S.; Green-Tech's founder Tom Bjorstrom will remain to support integration.

AEA Investors Acquires Verdesian Life Sciences

Funds managed by AEA Investors have acquired Verdesian Life Sciences from Paine Schwartz Partners. Verdesian, a Cary, North Carolina-based developer of biological, nutritional, fertilizer enhancers, seed treatment and inoculant technologies with more than 240 employees, will partner with AEA to scale organically and through strategic acquisitions and expand geographically.

FoodChain ID Acquires Verdant

The add-on expands FoodChain ID's technology-enabled services and accelerates its ability to deliver PLM integrations, compliance automation and product formulation tooling to enterprise customers.

San Diego-based private equity firm Verde Equity Partners has acquired Juniper Landscape, a commercial landscaping and property maintenance company operating in Southern California. Verde named Tom Heaviland as CEO and operating partner of the platform and said the deal is part of a vertical roll-up strategy to pursue additional commercial landscaping acquisitions across the U.S. Southwest.

TruFood Manufacturing Combines with Bar Bakers; Manna Tree Invests Alongside Mubadala Capital

TruFood Manufacturing, a Mubadala Capital portfolio company, has completed a combination with Bar Bakers, a Los Alamitos, California-based contract manufacturer of nutrition and protein bars. Manna Tree has invested alongside Mubadala Capital to support the combined business, which will be led by TruFood CEO Michael Buick and is positioned to expand west coast manufacturing capacity and broaden product capabilities.
