Cooper Consumer Health Acquires Viatris' Over-the-Counter Business

Cooper Consumer Health has completed the acquisition of the Over-the-Counter (OTC) business of Viatris Inc., following regulatory approvals and worker council consultations. The deal brings more than 200 brands (including Betadine, Saugella, Armolipid and CB12), two manufacturing sites in Mérignac (France) and Confienza (Italy) and an R&D centre in Monza (Italy) into Cooper's platform, doubling Cooper's revenues to approximately €1.2bn.

Pharmanovia Acquires Global CNS Portfolio from Sanofi

Pharmanovia, a Triton Fund V portfolio company, has acquired an 11‑brand global central nervous system (CNS) portfolio from Sanofi, including Frisium (clobazam) and Gardenal (phenobarbital). The asset package, available in 60+ markets, expands Pharmanovia's neurology franchise and commercial footprint across markets such as Brazil, South Africa, France and Italy in a divestiture from Sanofi.

Charterhouse Capital Partners Acquires Controlling Stake in Novetude Santé

Charterhouse invested alongside Novetude Santé’s management, which retains a shareholding, and intends to support the company’s growth through internationalisation and buy-and-build add-on activity.

Equistone Partners Europe Acquires Majority Stake in Omnicare

Equistone Partners Europe has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Omnicare, a German pharmaceutical wholesaler specializing in distribution of finished medicines to compounding pharmacies for patient-specific oncology treatments. The seller is a consortium of shareholders that will retain a stake; Omnicare’s management, led by Oliver Tamimi, will remain in place and the deal (terms undisclosed) is expected to close in Q4 2019.

WebMD Health Corp. Acquires SanovaWorks

The acquisition expands WebMD/MedscapeLIVE’s in-person and virtual education and events capabilities for dermatologists; terms were not disclosed.

Foundation Consumer Brands Acquires Seven OTC Brands from GlaxoSmithKline

Foundation Consumer Brands (backed by Juggernaut Capital Partners and Kelso & Company) acquired a portfolio of seven over-the-counter (OTC) brands from GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare. The transaction transfers brands including Breathe Right and Children's Dimetapp into a new PE-backed OTC platform (Foundation Consumer Brands), which will leverage existing management and distribution relationships with Foundation Consumer Healthcare and Ceuta Healthcare Group to drive growth.
