Cooper-Vemedia (Charterhouse) Acquires 12-Brand OTC Portfolio from Sanofi

Charterhouse-backed Cooper-Vemedia has acquired a portfolio of 12 over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical brands from Sanofi for €158 million. The brands—spanning dermatology, well-being, eye care and other categories—are predominantly sold in France and Italy and will be integrated into Cooper-Vemedia’s pan‑European OTC platform to strengthen its product offering and market position.

Equistone Partners Europe Acquires Majority Stake in Omnicare

Equistone Partners Europe has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Omnicare, a German pharmaceutical wholesaler specializing in distribution of finished medicines to compounding pharmacies for patient-specific oncology treatments. The seller is a consortium of shareholders that will retain a stake; Omnicare’s management, led by Oliver Tamimi, will remain in place and the deal (terms undisclosed) is expected to close in Q4 2019.

The transaction transfers brands including Breathe Right and Children's Dimetapp into a new PE-backed OTC platform (Foundation Consumer Brands), which will leverage existing management and distribution relationships with Foundation Consumer Healthcare and Ceuta Healthcare Group to drive growth.
