Boston Trade Interior Solutions Acquires Design Environments Corporation

Boston Trade Interior Solutions, backed by private equity partner Blackford Capital, has acquired the assets of Design Environments Corporation and will fold it into Hospitality Consolidation Company (HCC) as a division. The Marietta, Georgia-based interior design and interior architecture firm (48 employees) will continue operating under existing leadership with founder Donna DeLuca remaining as a strategic consultant; terms were not disclosed.

NBBJ Acquires ESI Design

Global architecture and design firm NBBJ has acquired immersive experience studio ESI Design, integrating ESI as an NBBJ studio to expand the firm's capability in digital and immersive experience design. Edwin Schlossberg and six ESI leaders join NBBJ leadership, and ESI will operate as NBBJ's 18th studio with retained New York offices.

Havenly Acquires The Inside

Havenly, the Denver-based e-design platform, has acquired key assets of direct-to-consumer home furnishings brand The Inside, including its intellectual property and inventory. The deal will integrate The Inside's made-to-order, customizable furniture offerings into Havenly's design and e-commerce ecosystem to expand product capabilities and better serve residential customers.

Elkay Interior Systems Acquires Digney York Associates

Elkay Interior Systems (a business of Elkay Manufacturing) acquired Washington DC–area hotel renovation specialist Digney York Associates in December 2019 to expand its turnkey hospitality interior renovation and guest-room refurbishment capabilities. The sale marked an exit for investor Merit Capital Partners, which had backed Digney since 2007.

Blanchon Group Acquires Debal Finance (Ciranova)

Blanchon Group has acquired Debal Finance (operating as the Ciranova brand), a Belgian family-owned manufacturer of finishing products for parquet and wood flooring that generates approximately €15m in turnover and employs about 60 people. The deal — executed as an add-on to Blanchon (which is backed by PE firm Abenex) — expands Blanchon's international footprint (adding operations in Belgium, the United States and China), strengthens its R&D and UV technology capabilities, and accelerates its strategy to become a European leader in wood and vinyl flooring protection and maintenance.

Genesis Products Acquires BHK of America

Genesis Products, Inc. acquired BHK of America (South Boston, Virginia) on November 30 to integrate BHK's 46 years of drawer-component manufacturing expertise with Genesis's laminated panels and wood components capabilities. Genesis will retain BHK's leadership and sales team, expand product lines (including BHK's vinyl-wrapped DuraWrap drawer parts), and strengthen Genesis's East Coast manufacturing footprint.
