Cinven and BCI Acquire Compre from CBPE Capital

Cinven and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) have agreed to acquire Compre, a specialist global consolidator of closed non-life insurance portfolios, from CBPE Capital LLP. The deal (subject to regulatory approvals) positions Compre to expand geographically—notably in the US and Lloyd’s market—and to capitalise on growing demand for run-off solutions; financial terms were not disclosed.

Miller, headquartered in London with more than 900 employees and placing over $3.2bn of premiums annually, was previously acquired by Cinven and GIC from Willis Towers Watson in 2021; Cinven’s sale completes its exit.

International private equity firm Cinven has agreed to acquire a majority stake in BioAgilytix through a recapitalization, with current investor Cobepa remaining a significant minority investor. GHO Capital has realised its investment and will exit; the transaction will provide funding to support BioAgilytix’s international expansion, capacity and capability investments, and buy-and-build strategy in large-molecule bioanalytical services. BioAgilytix is headquartered in Durham, North Carolina and employs about 870 staff across the United States, Europe and Australia.
