General Shale, the North American building materials subsidiary of Wienerberger, has acquired Summitville Tiles, an Ohio-based producer of ceramic tile and thin brick solutions. The purchase expands General Shale's thin brick and industrial flooring portfolio and strengthens its position in commercial precast and industrial construction markets across North America.

The deal adds Quarry’s 122,000-square-foot facility (capable of 7 million sq ft/year) and its ~82 employees to Fireclay, boosting combined manufacturing capacity to over 10 million square feet annually; several Quarry leaders will remain with the combined business.

Schill Grounds Management Acquires The Ohio Valley Group's Commercial Division

Schill Grounds Management, a portfolio company of Argonne Capital Group, has purchased the commercial division of The Ohio Valley Group in a carve-out add-on that expands Schill's service area to the east side of Cleveland. About a dozen commercial employees, equipment and use of a portion of The Ohio Valley Group's facilities will transfer to Schill while the Dangelos retain residential operations and pursue other ventures.
