Pacific Avenue Capital Partners Acquires SunOpta's Sunrich Division

Los Angeles-based private investment firm Pacific Avenue Capital Partners acquired Sunrich Products, the sunflower and roasted snacks division carved out from SunOpta. The deal transfers three Upper Midwest processing facilities, hybrid seed development activities, grower relationships and Sunrich's management team to Pacific Avenue to support focused growth in healthy human and pet snack and ingredient markets.

PAI Partners to Acquire Tropicana, Naked and Select Juice Brands from PepsiCo

PAI Partners has agreed to acquire Tropicana, Naked and other select North American juice brands from PepsiCo in a deal that will create a joint venture in which PAI is the majority shareholder and PepsiCo retains a 39% non-controlling interest. The transaction, expected to close in late 2021 or early 2022 for approximately $3.3 billion in combined pre-tax cash proceeds, transfers a juice business that generated about $3 billion in 2020 net revenue and preserves PepsiCo's exclusive U.S. chilled distribution rights for certain channels.

Atalanta Corporation Acquires J.A. Kirsch Corporation

Atalanta Corporation, the largest privately held food importer in North America, has acquired J.A. Kirsch Corporation, a Teaneck, New Jersey-based importer and wholesale distributor of canned seafood and shelf-stable specialty foods. The transaction will expand Atalanta’s portfolio of imported specialty food brands and strengthen its presence in the independent and retail depot segments along the U.S. East Coast; terms were not disclosed.

National Convenience Distributors Acquires Century Distributors
