Mazzella Companies Acquires Piedmont Hoist & Crane

Mazzella Companies has acquired Piedmont Hoist & Crane, a Winston-Salem, North Carolina-based manufacturer and servicer of overhead cranes and lifting equipment. The deal expands Mazzella's engineering, manufacturing and service capabilities, and Piedmont will operate as Mazzella Piedmont; terms were not disclosed.

MSA Safety Acquires Bacharach, Inc. from FFL Partners for $337M

MSA Safety Incorporated agreed to acquire Bacharach, Inc. from private equity firm FFL Partners for $337 million. The purchase adds Bacharach's gas and refrigerant leak detection and analysis instrumentation to MSA's gas detection portfolio, expanding MSA's addressable markets and product capabilities; Bacharach has roughly $70 million in annual revenue and about 200 employees across the U.S., Canada and Ireland.

The deal adds sulfuric acid storage tanks and transloading facilities in the U.S. West and Gulf Coast, expanding Sumitomo's North American logistics capacity and boosting its global sulfuric acid trading and storage footprint.
