Platinum Equity Acquires Solenis and Combines It With Sigura Water

Platinum Equity has completed its acquisition of specialty chemicals maker Solenis from Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and BASF for an enterprise value of $5.25 billion and simultaneously merged Solenis with Platinum-owned Sigura Water, creating a combined business with approximately $3.5 billion in revenue. The combined company expands Solenis' portfolio into residential and commercial pool & spa treatment markets, increases geographic reach and manufacturing scale, and will be led by Solenis CEO John Panichella with Sigura's Robert Baird heading the new Pool Solutions division.

Platinum Equity Acquires United Site Services

Platinum Equity has signed a definitive agreement to acquire United Site Services (USS), a Westborough, Massachusetts-based provider of portable restrooms, temporary fence and related site services. USS operates a network of more than 80 locations across the United States; financial terms were not disclosed and the seller was Calera Capital.

Palladium Equity Partners Acquires Superior Environmental Solutions

Palladium Equity Partners has acquired Superior Environmental Solutions (SES) from Rosewood Private Investments. SES, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, provides industrial and environmental services including emergency response, hydro-blasting, vacuum truck services, product destruction, recycling and waste disposal across more than 25 locations and employs over 500 people; Palladium said it will partner with SES management to pursue organic and inorganic growth in a fragmented market.

Platinum Equity Acquires Lonza's Water Care Business

Platinum Equity completed the acquisition of Lonza's water care business in a transaction valued at approximately $630 million. Headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, the business operates six production facilities across North America, South America and EMEA and supplies consumer pool-care brands and industrial/municipal water treatment solutions; Platinum Equity will operate it as a standalone platform and will announce a new corporate identity.

Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners Acquires Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales from Sacyr

Morgan Stanley Investment Management, through funds managed by Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP), completed the acquisition of Valoriza Servicios Medioambientales S.A. from Sacyr, S.A. The transaction gives MSIP control of a leading Spanish waste-management and treatment business (operating concession-based municipal contracts and waste-to-energy/recycling facilities) with operations across Spain, Australia and Colombia and approximately 11,000 employees.
