Investcorp has acquired Sanos Group, a Denmark-based contract research organization (CRO) specialized in osteoarthritis clinical trials and site management. Investcorp said it will support Sanos' international expansion and growth into additional therapeutic areas and geographies, including expanding its research clinic network.

The transaction is a recapitalization in which prior investor TJC, L.P. retains a meaningful minority equity stake; terms were not disclosed. Kohlberg will partner with Worldwide's management (Matt Jennings to become chairman) to support continued growth of the company's clinical trial and bioanalytical capabilities.

The deal expands NAMSA's clinical trial capacity by roughly 25%, deepens therapeutic expertise in neurology, oncology, urology and nephrology, and strengthens global trial capabilities with Clinlogix facilities in Japan, Germany and Colombia.
